I honestly don't know, according to that link the original progeny were from 1913 and the strain named BALB/cJ was made official in 2006. Apparently there are several other sub-strains such as BALB/cN which I didn't realize :p I'm definitely not an authority on the subject though so I'm sorry I can't provide you with further information.

Is the one she received on the right? I worked at Tim Horton's when those began to be offered. Either your friend ordered an entirely different doughnut, that location was running out of supplies, or they had the world's laziest "baker" (if they can really be called that). This isn't what they are normally like at all, and I'm not one to stick up for TH.

I know loads of people that went without dates. You may feel badly now but one you're taking photos with people and asking guys/friends for short dances you'll forget about it hopefully.

I had a date for prom and when I look back, it would have been no better or worse if I went alone :) don't worry about it.

Are you me? I don't like eye contact with people. It took me months to get to that level with my SO and I can do it fine with very close friends and family, but looking at peoples eyes makes me uncomfortable mostly, even though I've been told that by all other standards I'm socially very normal.

I think for the same reason I wouldn't be interested in psychology, sociology, or the like; lack of interest. It just doesn't cater to most women's interests I guess. If they want more women in STEM, more knowledge about the variety of fields and programs should be introduced in high school, I think. That would no doubt be more effective than women role models which, frankly, I don't think anyone cares about.
