Maybe this is why there aren't more women in STEM: they seem to view math as a direct threat to their safety.

"It is hard not to recognize in this incident the ethos of [Donald] Trump's voting base."

wow... just HAD to shoehorn that one in huh?

I'm no fan of trump, but I don't see any more/less paranoia coming from that side vs the other..

Trump supporters aren't the ones going around and throwing shit at them for having opinions or disrupting their rallies.

I get awfully pissed off about how these Journalists have to insert their opinions into every 'report' they write which completely ruins the whole point of why they're writing news stories in the first place.

If they want to post their opinions they should go onto comments pages or post their own fucking blog, too many of them however feel the need to hijack news sites with their bullshit.

I guess math is to hard for this ignorant and uneducated female.

Don't think maths have anything to do with this sad episode, rather scorn after get her advances neglected.

Either or both could be true.

On what grounds ? If it was a womyn, then things may change.

Racial discrimination, or gender discrimination. If he was a white woman with long blond hair, they never would have bothered her.

To win, it should be a female.

When I read this kind of story, I wonder how you explain to a 'murican policeman and a paranoid womyn that being slightly darker and scribbing maths can exist in the world when they reply "sorry sir you are in usa, god bless us and we are not in your comunist country, please follow ..."

I don't understand how this is related to Men's right and the need to express that it's the woman being sexist to men. I understand that men are more likely to be categorised as terrorists but this had more to do with the woman's ignorance than her being sexist. If I'm missing something please explain it to me.

Question: Do you think that she would have ever treated a woman this way? Do you think anybody would have treated a woman the way that he was treated?

Ponder it for a bit, and then you might have your answer.

I understand that men are more likely to be categorised as terrorists

We do not have nearly enough information to assume that what the woman done was because she was sexist or just plain ignorant. No point in making assumptions and bashing the woman for being sexist.

False accusation against men by women is taken too lightly, not only in gender based cases, but also in other scenarios. And women false accuse a lot.
