You're looking at life in a black and white way, when in reality life is not black and white. Life exists on more of a spectrum. It is not just an on and off thing.

As an example, it is common practice for people to put their pets down when they get old. This is taking a life, but it is considered an acceptable practice by most. Furthermore, people, most likely including you, eat meat. This is partaking in the taking of MANY lives. There is no problem here for most people.

Now, you might argue that animals lives are not worth the same as human lives. I would say that by making that argument you are admitting that life is not black and white. You are saying that some lives are worth more than others. Also, I would say that I value my cat's life (my cat is my best friend) over the life of a 3 week old fetus. Again, this is saying that different lives have different value depending on the situation and the lives involved.

Thus, obviously there are situations where taking a life is acceptable. For you, taking the life of a fetus is not acceptable because you value that fetus to such an extent. However, this is not the case for many people. Everyone feels different on this, everyone has a different life/death spectrum. Some people are willing to join the army and kill insurgents in the Middle East, and some people are not willing to do so. Some people are willing to eat fourteen chicken arms in one sitting, and some people are not willing to partake in the eating of fourteen chicken arms from seven different, now dead, chickens. Some people eat cats and dogs, and some people consider cats and dogs family and would never eat one. Some people hear about starving children in Syria and say hey, it's not my problem man. Some people hear about starving children in Syria and, because they value the life of these children, are willing to extend a hand.

Are you helping starving children in Syria?

Are you helping starving children in your own city?

Do you eat meat?

Do you put your pets down when they are old, or when you are tired of cleaning up their piss off of the floor every morning?

Are you completely against war, or do you think that sometimes it is necessary to kill other people as a means to an end?

Do you value a clump of cells in a womb as equal to the life of a child?

Do you value a clump of cells in a womb as equal to the life of a woman?

And finally, is there a correct answer to any of these questions?
