Images like this that emphasis the scale of destruction caused by war absolutely blows my mind....... I'm not as naive as to think this shit couldn't happen again but it's almost surreal seeing somewhere that is now a hive of activity and commerce literally raised to the ground.

Not to make light of the 25.000 casualties in the bombings, try to keep that number in mind when you wonder about all the refugees streaming into Europe. If one of the most vicious military campaigns could "only" kill that many, then why is it we are counting Syrian refugees in the millions from a war that is not even close to the brutality of this?

A good number of the refugees aren't Syrian and of those who are a number are deserters and others trying to take advantage of the situation. In World War II, those weren't options.
