Defiinitely. The German side of the war is always portrayed as one sided when it wasn't.

Only game I can think of where you can play as Germany without them being portraied as complete asshats is the Tales of Valor expansion for Company of Heroes.

Yep, that and CoH2 well in multiplayer at least

Its just that featuring an American versus the whole of the German Wehrmacht is getting very tired indeed. The whole WW2 genre really does need a bit of a refresh; one where the German Soldaten are not always portrayed as evil but as Men and Women fighting for their country; both against the Allies AND the Nazis.

This not evil patriotic solders kiled 20 million people of my country. No way for german campaign.

I wont go into history, and comparing ♥♥♥♥ sizes on which country killed the most (I have no doubt you would get very upset at the actual facts).. its pointless. It was War.. get over it; its 70 years ago - and we are talking about a computer game set in an alternative universe - so please... (BTW a conservative estimate is that WW2 saw 2.5% of the worlds civillian population die.. at that time that would be 60million - you do the maths).

Red Orchestra 2 does a great job of not making you feel like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for being on a certain side, maybe these devs could have a look into that.

Well what pisses me off the most is the fact that 1 random ♥♥♥♥♥♥ will slaughter an entire regiment just because he's the usual american sent on a holy mission to eradicate all evil and save the world and such BS.

Well, if you want a FPS that you have a nice german campaign, try Iron Front, it has a nice campaign with story and everything.

For the RTS you have quite a few options, Men of War series has German Campaign (in some of the games).

There is also the awesome Codename Panzers games, where not only you have a german campaign in the game, but that campaign has a great story and its the CANON ENDING one for the series.

There is the Panzer General series, as the name implies, you take the role of a Wehrmacht commander and lead your troops from 1939 to 1946 yes, 1946, since if you win all missions with the best grade, you actually win the war for the axis, invading the US in the process. Panzer General is a Hex Grid turn based strategy "wargame".

For the boys & girls that think playing as Wehrmacht isnt enough, there is Stroke of Fate, where you play as a SS officer thats trying to kill hitler (its a point & click adventure game)

I am also not counting games that go for much more in-depth, such as Hearts of Iron (where you can play as essentially any nation during the WW2 period, i love winning against russia with Romania in that game!) and i am also not counting flight sims.

There are quite some other games that have a nice SP experience with the Axis powers, but i cant remember them all off the top of my head

As for a german centric Sniper Elite game, i think that would work wonders, either German or a Russian (prefebly female, for more uniqueness) protagonist would be awesome, Mister Karl is getting bit boring by now.

If we had a german campaign in SE, maybe it would be set in Britain, during Operation Sealion and we help the Lufftwaffe invade britain. I say britain, cause then we can have some silly excuse to throw in some US troops as well (if it happens in the eastern front, it would be just russians.), so we can spice things even more (maybe insert a plot where the US has developed the A-Bomb early in the war and plans to use it on europe!

But who i am kidding, such game would never exist, so i just have hopes for a Russian centric SE game.

No more so than COH2 and GTA, and all publicity is good publicity. e.g. I would never have played COH2 if it hadnt got all the negative press in Russia and the hysteria about the (rubbish) campaign (the multiplayer in COH2 more than made up for the bad campaign) and GTA would never have been as successful as it is without the crazy bad anti press it had!
