Why is this sort of racism by attributional biases ('x' colour person does 'x' thing in society) so accepted among the self proclaimed arbiters of social justice?

Can't they see their own racism?

I can't believe how racist mainstream media have become lately. It's like reading some sort of 1980s propaganda everywhere.

This just assumes white privilege in the most extreme form

What do you mean?

that black people are automatically given no opportunity, and no one is willing to give them any. Where a white person has everything just served up to them.

Agreed. Maybe you should change "assumes" to "illustrates"?

no, I don't really buy the concept of white privilege in the times we are living in today. I find it offensive that as a white man, all my accomplishments are deemed to have been just served up to me.

Privilege doesn't not mean everything was just handed to you, and oppression does not mean that you have zero opportunity. Imagine you are playing paintball and your teams side of the field is higher than the other side. You automatically get elevation reducing their cover and greater cover for yourself. Plus all movements toward the other side require them to go uphill, while you get to go downhill. This does not mean that you will just win if you sit there and never fire your marker, and it doesn't mean that the other team can never win no matter what. It just means that you have the advantage in every game by default. This is what it's like to have privilege in the real world most of the time, it's not that you have done nothing it's that it was easier for you. White Privilege doesn't extend to each person the same way, some whites have to work harder than some blacks, but by and large the system makes it easier for whites.

White privilege does not exist.

I don't really buy the concept of white privilege in the times we are living in today.

So have you read this before?

I find it offensive that as a white man, all my accomplishments are deemed to have been just served up to me.

Oh, so now I have to be politically correct and censor myself about white privilege being a thing because you're offended?

I am sure there is plenty of literature on white privilege, that doesn't make it necessarily true, there is quite a bit on scientology as well. You don't have to censor yourself, never said that, all I am saying is I find this white privilege stuff to be garbage. preach if you want, but I sure won't be listening.

LOL. Did you even read the list at all?

You don't have to censor yourself, never said that

I was just turning your side's rhetoric around on you.

checked my privelege, it's still there.

Yeah, that's the point. You have the privileges that come with being white.

Your list is wack. So because US is mostly a European population, I have 'privilege'. That's assuming a lot. A lot of white people struggle just like blacks and no one cares that their white.

Martin Luther King agreed we as a society should care for all of the downtrodden. If you listen to his Speech on Vietnam he talks at length about how wealth inequality creates barriers for people of all races.

Yes, you have the privilege of being white. You have the privilege of not having as hard a time as a minority has. That's what white privilege is.

A lot of white people struggle just like blacks and no one cares that their white.

Their white what?

All kidding aside - It is still easier for a white person to get ahead in America than it is for a black person. Sure, individual mileage may vary, but on the whole, it is still the case that minorities have it tougher than whites in America.

Sorry racism has always existed and always will in various forms. Ain't nothing you can do about it. You can't force people to be nice to each other there is no way to regulate that. Talking about the issue will help in time to educate people about race issues and maybe reduce the effects of racism. But you can't please everyone and there will always be a small portion of the population that views their own race as superior to one or more other races weather it be Asians thinking they are better than Indians or Blacks thinking they are better than Asians.

The BLM movement doesn't want discussion they want regulation and regulation will only cause problems. Can you imagine living in a world where acting like an asshole to somebody is a ticketable or arrestable offense? Give a guy a dirty look on the subway....$50 fine! Or what about a world where businesses are forced to hire by ethnicity round robin style? First they have to hire a black guy, next they have to hire a white guy, then the next employee has to be hispanic, and then the next has to be Asian. You may have an applicant who has 10 years experience but dang you can't hire that guy because he is white and you have to hire a Hispanic man this time. Trying to create laws that make everything fair only creates more problems.

Equality for blacks will come from the improvement of their own culture and placing importance on family and education while simultaneously keeping race issues in the spotlight for discussion. This will take a long time and it can't happen overnight. It also can't happen if black people don't try to make it happen.

I don't think so. We've almost got it under control in the U.S. Almost. There are still a lot of holdouts, but it's almost under control.

The BLM movement doesn't want discussion they want regulation

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you point to any documentation from the group that explicitly says or implies this? What regulations, specifically, do they want?

Can you imagine living in a world where acting like an asshole to somebody is a ticketable or arrestable offense? Give a guy a dirty look on the subway....$50 fine!

I would be ok with this.

That's not how Affirmative Action works.

Trying to create laws that make everything fair only creates more problems.

It depends on the attitudes and education levels of those they affect.

Equality for blacks will come from the improvement of their own culture and placing importance on family and education

Do you have no idea how those "cultural" problems are related to racism?

this post offended me $50 fine for you because i've suffered emotional damage.

pay up you big bully!

So what you're saying is that you didn't see the waiter refuse the man his food and just ice?

Just pointing out that this video is literally addressing the exact point you're raising and you are blatantly missing it. Pretty funny actually.

I'm saying the video is BS, I didn't have everything served up to me like this video suggests

The point is that the man is refused service because of systemic injustice.

LOL. I know the point they are trying to make, I just don't agree with it.

your accomplishments? what are those?

ya, i don't need reddit to know all of that, give me your phone number, i'll give you call if you really want to know.
