Today was a prime example of us lacking energy. Last week against Leicester we were decisive, and penetrative. Our players chased balls and were electric. However, today our players seemed to be mentally elsewhere. There have been other performances like today this season where we just seem to be "elsewhere." Three performances come to mind in particular: Southampton(H), Sunderland (A) and Norwich (H). You can of course make a case for other games such as the other week at Spurs, or at Arsenal however those are tough games. The aforementioned are not games that United should be playing at such a lethargic rate. Of course this is an over used example now, but Leicester won the title wanting it a significant amount more than the opposition. Kante and Vardy want to be first to every ball. Does Rooney want to be first to every ball? I would argue no, not really. What do you think is the explanation behind a slow tempo, energetic-less performance?
