What an atrocious game. No idea who to pick on more. Our forward players who aren't doing much of anything offensive? Rojo who's horrendous? Memphis? Dire, dire stuff today. Not too mention non of our subs seem to be good enough to change this game.

Not sure it helps. Rooneys movement is non existent so Mata will have no-one to feed. He has never been a great sole striker but these days he is a waste of space in that role.

I mean a lot of his problems in this match are things that come down to lacking game time. I'm not saying that he should be playing... Obviously if he can't play well on the right he definitely shouldn't be pushing Martial out of his most effective position, but the fact that his touch isn't perfect and he's not gotten used to making decisions at game speed doesn't mean that he's completely shit or that the people saying he'd play better with more game time are wrong

Well sure but even when he has gotten a run of games he hasn't performed. And the same is true of any player, you have to be able to prove yourself in your cameos to get a start. He's supposed to be a tricky, pacy, direct winger. All he really has done this season, however, is dribble straight into defenders.

That's the point. The kid has never had time to adjust to the PL. He's had good matches (granted against lower sides).

If you don't believe he has potential than so be it. But you can't tell me there's been times where he hasn't shown flashes. It's a matter of CONSISTENCY. He's a confidence player.

And how as a TEAM have we done in the PL? I'd say pretty inconsistent and shit against those lower league sides.

I'm not saying he hasn't had a shit game, I'm just saying the kid has the tools, but the type of player he is, he needs a run of games and better management

Maybe it'll be good to not finish in the top 4 if we don't end up securing it so the board is more pressed to change things. But damn I wish we'd been out of it awhile ago rather than cling to hope that gets dashed at the last stage or so.

Can't blame LvG for how terrible or "senior" players are. It's one thing when the young players don't perform, but what's Rooney, Carrick and Mata's excuse? They should be stepping up, yet they're just as bad if not worse that our young and inexperienced players. They offer nothing if they can't utilize their experience and should be let go as soon as the window opens.

We are so sloppy in the passing game, and missing Blind really highlights that. The fact that we are losing so so many battles in the midfield makes me think that putting Mata in there won't help the slightest.

We need to push Smalling or Rojo further up the pitch, so they can be faster to win the ball back.

That's because he doesn't have to go forward. His delivery and pace isn't good enough to be a true overlapping fullback. He can play there if his primary role is defensive, but we really rely on fullbacks in the attack.
