I'm 40 this weekend 😭

Happy birthday. Have a good one, mate!

Nice! Where you taking us then?

Up the arsehole.

So what your saying, is that it's going to be a messy weekend?

Happy birthday dude. :D

What would you do differently if you were 10 years younger knowing what you know?

Definitely travel more. I finished University at 22 and got a job straightaway. On reflection I should have worked for a year or two, saved as much as possible and went travelling, before focusing on my career.

Happy birthday, nice to know there is someone on here older than myself :)

I swear the seasons are changing. Snow last week, then heavy rain, and now a random heatwave. Britain for you.

Weather taking the piss! Especially in the mornings when I going to work, looks baltic out so I wear a hoodie and coat. Walking home I am fucking sweltered!

Meanwhile it's getting really hot here in Dubai, 42*C at noon, I'm going to just stay indoors

[–]Cairde_Le_Sochair 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

That describes a normal Tuesday in Ireland during the summer. Can't wait for the good weather, though! Time to get rid of this wankers tan .

Same here in Germany. Weather is as inconsistent as Rojo.

Manchester is right weird. Saw 22 degrees in my car yesterday

Gym update. Started last Friday and I've been going every morning before work. Been doing a 1050m swim, aiming for under 30 mins which I've been hitting so far. My main gripe is I have to get up at 6 instead of 645 and mixing that with the exercise is currently leaving me very tired in the afternoons. Still that can only improve as I stick with it :P

I have to say im impressed with people who manage to work out before going to work.

I can barely wake up in the morning!

I wish I could work out before work but the gym opposite my apartment doesn't open till 10. By the time I get home from work, I'm exhausted and all I want to do is play guitar/games and drink a beer and relax.

I think this is the main problem for a number of people too- long days means you're already drained and the idea of a workout just seems even more draining physically too. It gets better once you're into it of course but I can definitely see how people who are/want to be active skip this even.

I force myself to go occasionally, but recently I've fallen off the wagon yet again.

Yeah I hear you. I stopped last time during the World Cup (a little before) and the tournament made me lazy to go and once that happened, I stopped for a long time honestly. Only the occasional resistance band training at home and such from time to time and then off again, on again.

But once you actually start and get a routine in, it becomes easier for sure. And you skip only once in awhile and it's ok too. That's what it seems to me and how I get over the laziness and inertia at least.

It takes some getting used to, reprogramming the body, especially if you're not used to being as physically active so early. You'll be amazed how quickly your body will readjust though.

I've found that early morning exercise really does improve my day as i'm awake and the blood is pumping. Helps me get to sleep easier that night too.

Don't do too much too soon either, if you allow yourself a day off from time to time you'll be much more motivated in the long run.

[–]Pigeon_AssholeBlind's Sexy Hair 2

I've started this week as well. Getting up at 5 is pretty grim but hopefully it pays off. Have my first session with a PT tomorrow morning as well.

[–]Prof_DumbbelldoreRuud 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

Buy a road bike mate trust me.

Firstly it's much less boring than swimming or running, burns loads of calories since it's leg dominant, nice scenery depending on where you go... then when you get fit enough you can bike to work (i currently do) and it saves a decent amount of money.

Best part about it all now is that i'm saving money, getting leaner and fitter to the point where 20 milers are nothing now and i'm not even that tired after biking to and from work. I can still go to the gym in the evenings and do strength training.

A MASSIVE plus at this point is that when you're doing like 100 miles a week the amount of extra food you can eat is amazing and still stay lean. Fucking fizzy haribo is legitimately fuel before a bike its top.

Keep it up mate. The most important thing with gymming is being consistent, so keep at it and you'll see results in no time. That also means that you're entitled to a breather every now and again - don't burn yourself out!

Got my second to last ever exam at University today. In less than a week I'm finished for good and I join the real world. Here's hoping it goes okay.

Grete Waitz was a world record marathoner. Every year there's a huge race in her memory.

In 1999 some smartass started the Tom Waits race as a spin on the Grethe Waitz race. The difference here is that you run from pub to pub chugging beer. It's become hugely popular over the years.

That's what I'm doing on Saturday.

[–]MrD3athRyan Fucking Giggs 6

Sounds like that Simon pegg movie. At world's end?

Yes, that's an accurate comparison.

The difference is that you're doing some actual running between the pubs.

Still waiting on the Salford Mayor election result, but my Councillor unsurprisingly held, not that I voted for her.

But the real problem is people not voting, Salford had a 30% turnout, its just depressing!

I'm pretty hyped for Battlefield 5.

[–]Thank__Mr_Skeltal 3ポイント4ポイント  (6子コメント)

They announce it later on today, don't they? Really hope it's a WW1/WW2 shooter: the saturation of futuristic shooters is boring. Play Wolfenstein if you like a good FPS campaign game as well, it's really good.

I think it'll be awesome to see a WW1/WW2 game in their engine. Hopefully they can capture the brutality of those wars. I just hope they're not gonna pull loads of shady DLC shit like EA have been doing for the last 2 Battlefield games.

[–]Thank__Mr_Skeltal 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Same. I want to see things like Mustard Gas, trenches and the weapons can be awesome as well. Flame throwers, Sten guns, BAR's, stick grenades etc. They will have DLC as well like they always do, but they should be giving some stuff away after how bad Hardline was — and Battlefront, to a lesser extent. BF4 is the only game I've never sold and will always play in a game session.

I was hugely in to BF2 and BC2 but didn't quite get the same enjoyment or time in BF3 or BF4.. Maybe because the guys I spent well over 2000 hours playing with didn't really spend as much time playing the latter two.. and growing older doesn't really leave much time for games any more. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to seeing what Dice have to show off today.

Personally hoping for WW1/2 with some focus on the Russian side of things to mix it up a bit.

Yeah they do. And I agree with you, I haven't played a WW2 game for years, and futuristic shooters could be okay like with Titanfall but the problem is call of duty, who seem to be running out of ideas. I haven't played Wolfenstein yet but I will, I'm currently playing Fallout 4.

Pretty sure it isn't WW1.

Limited weapon selection, few vehicles and small scale trench combat kinda all go against what a grand scale Battlefield game traditionally have been. Not to mention it would be a waste of a fantastic game engine.

WW2 would be awesome!

Those 4 seconds were more exciting than the entirety of CoD's new trailer. I can't wait.

I die a bit inside when i see United flairs saying that they hope Liverpool will win europa league.

Fuck em! Liverpool done there bit, they helped the coefficient. Plus Sevilla winning 3 in a row a much better narrative

Today is the best day of the year.

The year I get to finish work early, go to the Stuttgart equivalent of Oktoberfest (they have it twice a year in Stuttgart) and get horribly drunk from 1 litre beers and not have to pay a penny because it's all paid for by work.

Your work pays for you to get shit faced?! Where can I apply? I can count to 10 in German, and use some swear words. Would this be sufficient?

Pretty much all the German I knew before coming was being able to count and swearing. So yeah its sufficient!

I was wondering how you got your name, so I decided to see your post history, but that confused me even further! You really like K Pop!

Ahah my name is from ages ago. Track & Field coach called me angry camel because of how I ran noisily. I don't understand the logic but the name stuck. And yeah, Kpop is awesome D:

The difference between Klopp and LVG is that, Klopp has transformed an average squad into a competitive team where as LVG has done exactly the opposite.... And the best thing is that, they are not even his(Klopp) players..

It hurts when reading this on BBC comments

Our team wasn't competitive when he took over. I'm all for bashing on the guy, but this is not a fair statement at all.

It is true that he's implemented a style right away and he hasn't even signed anyone. 2 finals and possible CL in 8 months or so is a bad sign for us.

Felt a twinge in my back at crossfit yesterday - tried to lift too heavy without sufficient warm up.

Back is stiff as shit today - wonder should I train tonight in the hope of stretching it out, or should I lay off for a few days?

Don't mess with a back issue mate. Really. It's the one place which could seriously screw you over in a lot of daily things honestly. I didn't mess mine up but I did hurt mine a bit a little while back and while it wasn't a big problem, I had some days where even sitting could hurt and such so, I really make sure I don't force anything on the lower back.

That's my idea at least.

No no no. No. No.

Get it checked if it's looking like a few days off, honestly. It is NEVER worth risking a back injury.

Overwatch!

Am I the only one here who hates learning or talking about mainstream footballers. I like to scout for our team by checking the under 17s of various lower leagues teams. I check the twitter accounts of the players and on the off chance that they get big, I can I that I always rated him like a true memester. Also in have 4 tests on Friday next week so can one of you Americans induct me and ship me over there before Donald builds that wall.

Battleborn and Overwatch are sooo good! Why did they have to be out at the same time. I had Overwatch beta for a while but having people to play with is so much more enjoyable.

Game of thrones lads, Jesus this show is immense! And this weekends episode has me so hyped! R+L=J!

What we thinking for this weekends game? Easy win? Should I add them too my 20 team bookie buster multiple?

What kind of game is it? Been out of the gaming loop for sometime now and I'm keen to try something out again maybe.

It's essentially a new version of Team fortress 2 from Blizzard. Pick between a selection of different heroes with different styles and abilities. Visually stunning, face paced, smooth gameplay and lots of fun. It's open beta this weekend before it launches on 24th. Just need a battlenet account

Oh wow I remember team fortress/half life from before. Don't really play FPS games lately because I'm not that good at them online. I enjoy the campaign modes on those games.

Sadly there isn't a campaign in Overwatch. But there is a very good story mission mode on Battleborn. Its like a moba fps hybrid, from the guys behind borderlands. It is also amazing and I trying to split my time between the two atm. The writing in it is hilarious

It really is, got exams in about two weeks so it can't come first for me sadly.
