Assuming we win the FA cup and Pool win the EL, which team would have a better season?

If we get the FA cup and top four, then us. If we don't get top four but still win the FA cup, then them.

The sole purpose of being top 4 is to qualify for the UCL. Or else being 4th or 5th or 6th would not matter much. Considering, Europa is a bigger trophy and also guarantees the UCl for the next year, I don't see how you can say that we will have a better season than Liverpool even if we end up top 4 and FA cup. Also, most importantly Liverpool are improving massively under Kloop. If they do win Europa, there is no arguing that they had a better season than us no matter what we achieve from here.

Everybody knows this. But we would have definitely had a better season than them in the league, as we would be in a higher position than them...

Europa is a bigger trophy

No it's not. I would take top four + FA cup over it anyday. The only reason I'd want to win the Europa is because of the entry into the CL.

They will probably end up 3-5 pts behind us. Not much of a difference if it is not separating the league winner and the 2nd team if you ask me. Why do you think Europa league is not a bigger trophy than FA cup? Don't tell me FA is the oldest trophy ever. By that logic, it is better than the UCL or the World Cup. No matter what people feel about it, the fact is that Europa league is a European trophy while FA cup is a domestic. FA cup might be domestically more prestigious but certainly not as big as the Europa league in the grand scheme. Europa league also guarantees direct qualification while top 4 does not.

And improving massively certainly means they are having a better season.

No it doesn't. By that logic Chelsea are having the best season in the league as they went from relegation zone material for awhile to mid table. Improving massively.

Let me put it this way to wipe off the biasness on this thread. Lets assume we sacked LVG in October and hired Kloop. From then, we start improving playing good football "most of the time", score goals here and there, reach league cup final and to top all that, reach Europa league final too. Whereas, Liverpool stuck with Rodgers and played the same old dull football scrapping an watching other teams results for top 4, crashing out of the group stage in the UCL, and get to FA cup final. At that point, who would you say had the better season? Would you guys say Liverpool??

Depends how you see it, on the personal level, it's us because we finally won the FA Cup after so many years.

FA Cup's much more prestigious.

EL's more useful as it gets you CL entry.

Hard to compare, definitely us if we get top 4 as well as the cup.

No it's not, it's the oldest trophy in the history of the sport and much more important than the newest rebrand of the UEFA cup.

The only value of winning EL is the CL spot. League Cup of Europe without that CL entry.

How's a domestic trophy more prestigious than a European trophy that includes some of the better European clubs?

Going by that the spanish or even Dutch cup means more than the Europa league which, is definitely not the case really.

By that logic, FA cup is more prestigious than Champions League too since UCL was also re-branded. No way FA cup is a bigger trophy than the Europa league.
