Lahm says it was the Dutchman who kickstarted Bayern's recent success at home and abroad.

Oh absolutely. There is no doubt Lahm credits him for the start of Bayern having a new tactical approach. But it's also made clear by him, as well as others, that it wasn't until Heynckes came in that Bayern truly kicked on.

It's not uncommon for players to be enthralled with new managers, but it seems Lahm definitely knew that van Gaal was restricted in what he could do.

Nope. All that was said after LVG left. Nothing about being enthralled. That's how the guy feels. He also felt LVG didn't want to adjust in his second year but he still said he was important for bringing them into modern football.

No Lahm definitely didn't know LVG was limited in what he could do. Never said anything like that. You've taken quotes by Lahm and put your on bias on it.

I hate when people do shit like this. It's not even about supporting LVG or anything. It's about representing the facts as they truly are without trying to put some shit spin on it.

Where did Lahm say it wasn't until Heynckes they started kicking on and what others said that ?

That makes a lot of sense and he did stabilize them and bring them success after the Klinsmann debacle. Which is what I think most people give LVG credit for at United. But Bayern realized when it was time to move on to someone better.

You mean right after they gave him a contract extension ? You realize he'd signed an extension before he got in a piss contest with Uli Hoeness and got fired. He wasn't moved on because he was limited. That was what Uli came out and said but wasn't the case. Nothing changed between when he got his contract extension and when he got fired other than his fight with Uli Hoeness

He got his contract extension at the beginning of his second season. After the season went to shit, they announced he'd leave a year early. They then sacked him when he lost third place in the Bundesliga. So performances warranted him being sacked regardless of whether him and Uli Hoeness were fighting.

I believe that rings true with Lahm's comments as well. He came in and stabilized Bayern, but after that, it was time to move on. Bayern appointed Heynckes, and the rest is history.

I believe we're also in a similar situation. He came in and stabilized the club, at least as much as possible after Moyes, and now it's time for a serial winner to come in and take us to the next level.

He more than stabilized that team. He took them to their first CL final in ages. He brought them into modern football. That's not just a transition thing. He laid a hell of a foundation and probably would have done more had he not got into a pissing contest with Uli Hoeness

When I said stabilize, I meant in reference to what Klinsmann left.

LvG has done as much as he can here, and it's time for him to leave in the summer. He introduced some great youth prospects, signed Martial, and signed Memphis (remains to be seen if he can do better next season).

He has set the foundation for the next manager to build on. Unfortunately for him, the results have not been there. At the end of the day, football is a results business.

It's time for us to bring in someone who can get results immediately. Although it's not guaranteed, Jose Mourinho is the closest thing to guarantee immediate results as they come.

Lol yet he's gotten better results than Mourinho did with a much better squad.

Aside from a poor December run, were 2nd in the league behind Leicester only. But go on. I really don't care. I'll just keep sharing these facts.
