Well, seeing how they played last weekend, I wouldn't be very optimistic...

Seeing city play wasn't good either tbh...

Have to agree with you.

Can't help but feel bad for the guy. Very talented defender

Edit: I knew there would be some fuckers who would downvote this. Get your priorities sorted out

He's a great defender, a great captain, and seems like a great guy. Just a shame he's a Citeh player.

On the other hand I couldn't give less shits about him

Kompany's consistent injury is a case study in why it's important to not throw players back in straight after an injury. He's never truly recovered from his first calf injury. He always gets rushed back. He needs to take an extended time to actually make sure it's healed to perfection before getting back to full playing rhythm. This might end up causing more damage that if he'd sat after that second injury for a fuller recovery.

Seemed like his thigh today, though.

Overcompensating. Your motor movements change when compensating for other unfit parts of the body and that affects different muscles. His second calf injury seemed like it happened because he was trying to reduce pressure on his first calf. It all affects body physiology.

Yep. Even if the compensation isn't a conscious decision, it's incredibly common, and very frequently the driving force behind injuries to other body parts.

For example, some studies have shown that athletes who tear their ACL are "six times more likely" to suffer a 2nd torn ACL w/in 24 months of the injury than their healthy counterparts.

TL;DR: Injury bad. Easing back into sports good.

My first thought when seeing it was they need a new captain next season. Pep isn't going to have a captain that's injured for half the season.

Still hoping for extra time and a City penalties loss tonight. Maximize their physical and mental fatigue.

IMO the best scenario is Pellegrini keeps Aguero and De Bruyne on the pitch to the very end and they run themselves ragged.

Can't go to extra time now unfortunately

[–]TanqPhilWoodward!

Shit, you are right. Away goals.

No penalties anymore because if City score they have an away goal.

Extremely overrated defender by all. He's been subpar for the past 2 years now.

Tbf he was kinda back to his best earlier this season. City's defence just collapsed the moment he got injured constantly again.

I know its an opportunity for Arsenal but I feel bad for Kompany. I hope he recovers for the Euros

Closest I've seen him to tears walking off - must suck to consistently get these muscular injuries

They've played a lot without him this season, won't make a difference, unless they play demichelis
