The Bitcoin community is going through a bit of a schism about it's current protocol. If you're not into crypto then the whole blocksize debate is really boring and the arguments either way don't really matter so I'll spare you that.
Because Bitcoin isn't run by any company it's possible to democratically direct the way Bitcoin develops. People (but mostly the powerful miners) can literally vote with their Bitcoin wallet.
The mods over at /r/bitcoin have a stake in one version of the protocol while a large part of the community is in favour of another version. To prevent Bitcoin slipping from their grasp, the moderators have gone full Orwellian and are stamping down hard on any attempt at even discussing the matter.
So that's why /r/btc was created. It's mostly an exodus of Bitcoiners that want the version that the /r/bitcoin moderators don't want and on top of that there's people like me, dumb enough not to have any opinion either way and who just want to follow the discussion.

TLDR: The Bitcoin moderators are House Harkonnen, the rest of the Crypto subs are House Artreides and both are vying for the favour of the Bitcoin Miners who are the Space Guild.

I'm pro /r/btc. However it helps to make a distinction between the debate and the manner in which it's conducted. So let me explain my take on this:

I personally don't take a side in the debate because I lack the expertise to properly judge the rather technical and philosophical arguments from either 'side'. However trying to find out more about the discussion quickly became impossible on /r/bitcoin because a large amount of posts and comments started to get removed and people ended up banned.

Now again, regardless of who is right or wrong on the debate, this is no way for a community to be managed.

So to answer your question: As objectively as possible it can be said that the moderators of /r/bitcoin clearly believe in one narrative and are willing to use their mod powers to enforce it. And I guess the best motive from their side would be that they believe the other ideas for a new protocol may harm Bitcoin to such an extend that it justifies cracking down on people who're suggesting it.

Now the problem with this divide is that by expelling all dissent to a new subreddit, both subs have lost their diversity. One through top-down intervention and the other through bottom-up downvotes cast by disgruntled dissenters.

I really want to see /r/btc become a place where both sides are heard because at least the moderators won't control the discussion. It's just that it really lacks a varied enough demographic for that to happen.

In a way, their actions ARE scary if their batshit crazy ideas were implemented in real life.. Donald drumpf and his fans are anti intellectual. They rely on feels over reals but bash feels over reals when those "leftists" does it.

In a way, I think this current situation that the_donald and Donald Trumpf campaign faces is going to be their own downfall. Radicalism works in short burst, as in, being brazenly proud of radical ideas, constantly upvoting shitposts, shitty memes, etc in a blitzkrieg sort of way.It bulldozed the republican party to shambles. No one can stump drumpf in that phase. But unfortunately,that phase came to an end the moment Ted Cruz suspended his campaign and the_donald focused all their attention on Hillary Clinton, like the stickied mod post in that subreddit. Sure they will own the /r/all in the upcoming months, but its only going to decimate the already fragile support that Mr little hands has from women, and minorities, including the major minority: Hispanics.

Trumpet fans all rally that "the silent majority" line about supporting trump, but wait till they see what the silent majority does in the general campaign.

Him saying "I'm sure not all of them are rapists" is just as convincing as the "I'm not a racist but..." schtick. He literally just said Mexico is not sending their best but their criminals and rapists -- he's saying Mexican immigrants, whole or massively in part, are such. That's kind of racist and the fact that trump supporters keep defending this is making me question how much they are "just asking questions".

Also, him saying he wants to ban all Muslims from the country is kind of a big deal too.

I guess in the world of conservatives, you can never be a racist unless the guy wears a white hood or something.

No I said polls are bullshit, not because they all are, but because you don't know ahead of time if they are accurate out not. They are educated guesses unless the sample size is huge which it barely ever is. The percentage of pools that are wrong or very inaccurate makes me not care what they say. I see evidence daily that Hilary, Sanders, and Cruz are losing support and only Donald gaining. So if I was polling reddit and making predictions, I'd say Trump will annihilate Hilary so hard she won't win one state. Of course that wouldn't be accurate, but anybody can take a sample and spew whatever. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong. Usually they pick the winner, but r percentages are almost never close.

What is your real evidence that Hilary wins beside whatever poll you mentioned? What evidence do you have this is accurate and will happen? What makes this particular poll not bullshit compared to the last one?

Its called margin of error and they adjust the poll ratings according to this. THIS is your criticism against polls in general?

Just look at the historical poll data of gallup from previous years and see how accurate these "educated guesses"are.

....What real evidence are you really expecting here other than the polls conducted by independent organizations? I don't get your question at all. I don't get my educated views from magic gazing balls or something.

The scientific validity of polling is pretty strong dude. You might have some valid points if the margin of error is 1-3. But right now, Clinton leads trump by 6.2 percent. Thats a pretty wide gap only similar to the six point win that Roosevelt pulled off in 1936 gallup polls. Poll data showed 55.7% of people supported him but ended up getting 62.5% votes.

Essentially, Trump needs to pull this big of a deviation similar to 1936 elections. The point is, Trump still faces a uphill battle to win the presidency.

These same polls and science you claim are so accurate were off by a mile in Indiana. So yes they can be correct, buy sometimes they are flat out wrong. I'm not backtracking at all. Polls, simply because so many are conducted like shit, aren't worth looking at unless one person is said to have a huge lead. Hilary's 6 point lead after yesterday's post proving she's losing a chunk of the female vote big-time to Trump could throw those silly points right out the window. The polls in 2 months could very well have Trump 25-20 ahead. I didn't know you could predict elections in May. Never mind the indictment that could happen, and the fact Trump hasn't went after her yet. Just wait until that happens. She'll go back to whining which has done her no good so far. She also went to bed as Benghazi was under attack, lied and blamed a YouTube video, lied about being almost attacked, took money for speeches as her own campaign was seeking a headquarters, and used the term CPT (colored people time) in a tasteless joke, this after not long ago referring to inner city youths as homeopathic predators or something just as racist.

She has nothing to fear, you're right. She's locked down to win.

I think there’s a change in weather. I am not a great believer in man-made climate change. I’m not a great believer. There is certainly a change in weather that goes – if you look, they had global cooling in the 1920s and now they have global warming, although now they don’t know if they have global warming. They call it all sorts of different things; now they’re using “extreme weather” I guess more than any other phrase. I am not – I know it hurts me with this room, and I know it’s probably a killer with this room – but I am not a believer. Perhaps there’s a minor effect, but I’m not a big believer in man-made climate change.

The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.
