Di Maria fell out with Perez, besides he didn't even want to play for us not a very good example.. Griezmann has a great relationship with Simeone.

It's like people blatantly become oblivious to this all of a sudden to make a pointless argument sometimes...

And to quote Op- please stop ignoring the proper facts to make rubbish assertions as a main point.

Hard to say he didn't want to play with us...towards the end he definitely wasn't in the right place but those first few months he looked genuinely up for the challenge.

I remember his emotion after we tied Chelsea in the last minute, genuine elation.

I'll admit he fell out with Perez but why can't that happen with Griezman? I'm not saying it's likely, I'm just saying it's possible.

Because it's a far fetched theory you're trying too hard to concoct. Perez is also not at Atletico. And Griezmann loves it there, really likes Simeone and the other way around too.

Going by that, we can easily ask why can't Neymar fall out too? Or Müller. Or such. I mean... Nobody is saying it's likely, just saying it's possible too

I think we can get Griezmann, but your reasoning is terrible! The situations are nothing alike

Yeah, I came here to say exactly this. It's not that you're wrong, OP, it's just that you've used a completely irrelevant analogy to back up what you're trying to say.

Fair enough, I probably should have looked for more correlation. I just can't take it when people say "not possible, he's in CL Final. He'd never come here"

It's absolute bullshit

Di Maria was sold to accomodate Bale and Rodriguez. He didn't want to leave.

Plus we were just a stepping stone for him to get to PSG

Costa left atletico after winning the league and a champions league final to go to Chelsea who came third. It's improbable but not impossible.

So please, stop pretending we can't get the biggest names in football. Money talks, and we've got a big mouth.

I cringe to this.

Di Maria was being forced out because he wanted a better contract and Real Madrid wanted a new shiny, more attractive toy. Carlo wasn't a fan of his attitude and someone had to make way for James. Situation isn't even comparable. If anything, Di Maria's stint at United will likely deter some players away from United, there is a sense of uncertainty at the club.

That's because Real Madrid wanted to sell Di Maria to get Bale. Atletico don't have to sell Griezmann.

Right now Manchester United are not an attractive club to be at. We are struggling and don't look like changing anytime soon.

Madrid sold Ozil to get Bale.

I agree that it wouldn't be impossible but you've chosen a really bad example. ADM used us as a stop gap as his deal with PSG couldn't go through because of FFP restrictions that year, if they had been able to take him then he would have went there a year earlier and not stepped foot in Manchester.

BAD example.

Sure he was a big name but he really didn't want to come and we needed to throw copious amounts of money at him to make it happen. Even at that, he left after a year.

Success matters to these egotistical megastars and right now we're in short supply of it except for a potential FA Cup win.
