7. No Solicitation of Votes or Views. No Asking for Votes or Sharing Submission Links On or Off-Site (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)		Violations can lead to a permanent ban of accounts and video channels.
8. No Hate Speech		You are free to offer your opinion respectfully, but comments or posts intended to demean a group, acontextual expressions of bigotry, and the pejorative use of slurs is disallowed.
9. No Videos of Real-Life, Malicious Person-On-Person Assault/Battery or Physical Abuse of Animals		This includes raw videos of fights.
10. No Third Party Licensing		No videos that are licensed by a third party. Videos that become licensed after they are posted will be removed. Please see this thread for a more detailed explanation.

No, it's really not. I'm not the user you were responding to, but you and your father are stupid. I would tell you that you were just as stupid if you made a personal decision to lick an electrical outlet. I won't get on my bike nor let anyone else on the back without at least helmet, jacket, and gloves. I do it because literally every study ever done on motorcycle safety has shown that you're far less likely to suffer life-threatening injuries or death if you're wearing a properly fitting helmet.

A University of Pennsylvania study highlights the importance of motorcycle helmet wearing. Since the state of Pennsylvania repealed its motorcycle helmet law in 2003, riders’ head injury fatalities from wrecks increased by 66 percent. Hospitalization for motorcycle-related head injuries increased by 78 percent. That’s some pretty strong evidence.

And that's just one study done in one state.

Dare I say "Darwin!" I never wore a helmet unless it was <50 F out, one day coming home from work (it was freezing) I was wearing a helmet/full face shield/winter parka and had my front fork snap (one of the tubes twisted) and lock the front wheel. I immediately did a superman flyover my bike at 40 miles an hour (while I watched my bike fly a moment later over my head in slow mo, guess an unloaded bike's aerodynamics are better than a guy in a parka) and I landed flat in the median. I got away with a shredded parka, the face shield in pieces (I did get a split eyebrow, butterfly bandage) and in fact the bike lived to ride again too. I kept all of my body parts! I learned preventative front fork oil maintenance and thanked God as now I know I ain't riding w/o "real" clothing and helmet. YMMV

See, what you're failing to take into account is risk vs. reward.

What is the risk vs. reward of no helmet? Well, the risk is that a normally minor injury (falling on the pavement) can turn into a fatal or debilitating one (severe head injury). The reward is a bit more free-feeling without a helmet and I guess a bit of money savings (assuming you don't have huge medical bills due to lack thereof).

Also you should put a fucking slip grip on your shower, it costs fucking nothing, why not? Gotta make the shower look cool?

Basically if we put risk and reward on scales not wearing a helmet is pretty one sided towards risk.

The old addage "do you want to live forever" is stupid because if we just follow that endlessly into the void then we arrive at not having any acceptable risk mitigation. "Why aren't you wrestling bears? What's the matter, wanna live forever?"
