You should put a post up on some of the great reading material on the sidebar... I can see a lot of people benefitting from it lol.

But what do you fake?

Part of what makes something a success is that you understand on a deep level the underlying drives that motivate people. (the Rubik's Cube) It's from this understanding that you invent your own variation.

You spin the Rubik's Cube... create the new concept... then "sell" what actually is vaporware.

Vaporware is a software term where you sell an idea before you actually own the thing you are selling. It's like hype.

Once you have the idea you can backfill the necessary things to make it real... fake it until the deadline exposes you as a fraud.

If you make the deadline then no one knows of the struggles.

Just think about one single thing.

The 48 laws (and other resources) is something written by a person. It exposes some of the techniques used by those who already knew those things. He saw some patterns and put them on an easy digestible writing.

People want to emulate those that do these things like birds just fly.

Not that you cannot do it. It's just useful to see things in perspective.

A year ago I faked bartending experience to get my foot in the door at a small-scale bar. Today I'm bartending at one of the most upscale places in the city - making upwards of 35$-40$/hr. Don't underestimate the power of unshakeable - even irrational confidence in yourself. It'll pay in dividends.

I've seen people successfully market themselves with what seemed to 'douchey' tactics. Shameless self-promotion, being slightly obnoxious and just things that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing.

I would love to codify their tactics and then suspend my disbelief and implement them for myself.

This is great and all, but not very relevant to dark triad behavior. This is just basic marketing tactics with a pep-talk infused. You've completely neglected to even mention the words "narcissism" and "psychopathy", which are equally as important to the formula.

I know Dark Triad sounds cool. But if it is just this----

•Narcissism is characterized by grandiosity, pride, egotism, and a lack of empathy

•Machiavellianism is characterized by manipulation and exploitation of others, a cynical disregard for morality, and a focus on self-interest and deception

•Psychopathy is characterized by enduring antisocial behavior, impulsivity, selfishness, callousness, and remorselessness

In less dark psychobabble:

  1. Have a God complex
  2. Be Persuasive,Cunning, and ruthless
  3. Act like a self-center 2 years old

Then what is the hype about it. Because it sounds mysterious like tall dark and handsome, yet evil and edgy and you will be looking for revenge .

Who are you to say what it takes to become a self-made millionaire?
