Truly historic. Can't wait to see the guard of honor for them at Stamford Bridge lol

Fergie's retirement has well and truly broke this league.

[–]Zidane-TribalOh..YES!! Fresh Prince of Manchester -1

Leicester won the league before us, damn what happened

What are you talking about? That makes no sense.

Ah.

Shit.

OH GOD LIVERPOOL ARE DRAGGING US INTO THE REALM OF OBSCURITY

[–]WszystkoZajeteWelcome to Old Trafford, Anthony Martial! 0

yeh they also barely avoided relegation

That match was crazy physical. So many late tackles through players, it's quite entertaining when it's not your team :)

That was a classic, dirtiest game I've ever seen. Spurs lost it like crazy, heartbreak for them this summer, for a long time. And Hazard, played like the player we know of, what a goal to cap it all off.

if our team was on the receiving end half the players would be out injured

[–]immense_anticipation 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

Amazed there wasn't a red car in it

Not that amazing, they don't usually allow cars on the pitch.

But it was a yellow car that started all the fighting

Peter Schmeichel has won the league, then gone on to have a son who also won the league, since Liverpool won it.

I expect no less

in the time from when liverpool last won the league, Schmeichel won the league 5 times and now his son has won it too

Spurs were awful tonight both in terms of performance and in discipline.

They could easily have ended with 7 men on the pitch and they definitely have some retroactive bans coming now (especially Dembele's eye gouge on Costa and Lamela's stamp on Fabregas's) hand.

Kyle Walker should get banned for throwing his blood on Costa. That's disgusting.

At half time put a quid on a red card - never lost so unjustly in my life

[–]BarbadosDMLord Scholes 1

Haha so did I! I was certain Dembele and Walker would be off if Tottenham let their lead slip

[–]PreztoEliteDavid "The Wall" De Gea 3

He threw blood? That's awful! There should be a fine and a long ban!

Yep. He had a bloody nose, he squeezed it, and threw it back at Costa.

Here's the video: https://streamable.com/wlh5

[–]PreztoEliteDavid "The Wall" De Gea 3

That's absolutely horrendous

That's fucking disgusting. That's worth a hefty ban.

There will be bans for a lot of Tottenham's players after this match: Dier, Walker, Dembele, Lamela, etc.

Dier got the yellow, where he should've gotten red for the tackle on Hazard. Walker? Well, he was just pisshot today, should be off in the first half already. Same goes for Lamela and Dembele.

Disgrace, glad they didn't win the game. Bloody idiots, lost their heads and, in effect, Leicester are champions. Well deserved.

If it was towards anybody but Costa, I'd agree.

Especially considering Costa just hit made him bleed anyway.

Surely that's a ban. Evans and Cisse got banned for what was it, 4-6 games last season for spitting. Hefty ban because you could spread disease through that as well as being unsportsmanlike, I don't expect any less for this.

I missed the game but it sounded hilarious.

Did they just completely lose their heads?

Yeah. After Hazard scored, it went from a football match to a WWE match.

Spurs had 9 yellow cards, the most any team has received in a single Premier League game.

Tackles flying in from everyone on their team. Eye gouges, kicks, hand stamping and a shit ton of late tackles.

Get hold of that second half from /r/footballhighlights because it was worth it.

Yeah, 4-5 reds would've been justified honestly. Not just from Spurs either, both sides were giving it out. Can't believe there wasn't a single one. I reckon Clattenberg just didn't want to give them. There was an awful challenge in like the 94th by someone (Dier I think) who was already on a yellow that was completely ignored. Plus a few of the yellows could've easily been red on a different day, plus there were a whole bunch of missed incidences (including Dembele seemingly going for Costa's eyes, which would be another red). Absolute brawl.

Passionate from Spurs, and it's what you'd expect, but I think it'll put a bit of an end to the people talking about how classy they are.

[–]E51838Maradona Good, Pele Better, George Best 0

Part of the problem is that when the referee makes it clear he's not going to give out a red, it just gets worse, because players know they will get away with it. Had he gotten a hold of it at the beginning, it don't think it would have been as bad later in the game.

Yeah, I agree. The commentators were complimenting him at the start for just talking to players, after a Rose foul iirc. Then the same player fouled again in the very next passage of play, and...nothing. Kind of set the tone I thought.

They weren't awful, they were really good the first half. The second half they completely lost the plot. Pochettino mustve destroyed that half time team talk. Went a bit overboard.

The Hazard sub changed the game imo. He played a blinder. Showed how talented he is when he can be bothered.

You're right. First half they were good, just recency bias of that second half.

Fellaini seems like a saintly player after watching a match like that.

Spurs were awful tonight both in terms of performance

Performance wise, they were fine in the first half and up until the first goal. After that goal, they completely lost it. Seems like they got scared with Hazard coming on, but he didn't even really do much until the later part of the half.

Honestly, what it looked like to me was that they got tired. They were pressing hard and you can hear Poch screaming to push up but everyone was just jogging.

Ultimately Spurs have no experience in these high stakes matches and it showed, Chelsea had them on strings, especially in the second half.

Yeah, looked completely broken after Costa's initial antics, he (and Chelsea) love playing the villain

Regardless of the fuck Vardy I've loved watching it go from sarcastic "they're going to win the league!" comments a few months ago to "Holy shit they might actually win the league!"

Congrats to them!

Now it's: "Holy shit they have actually won the league!"

This is all so surreal. I can't believe this is happening, it just seems like it was impossible.

idk, i'd be a little happier seeing us in champions league spot on that table.

Atleast they didnt win it at Old Trafford, I would not have liked that

Better them than City, Arsenal or Spurs.

The most exciting league in the world, without a doubt.

Would it also be fair to say its the weakest top tier league?

I'd say that's Italy. England has a semi finalist each in the European competitions to be fair

Depends how you look at it really.

In my opinion there's more quality in the top teams in Spain and Germany (arguably PSG as well) right now, but I think there's more quality in the English table overall, and that's what makes this league the most exciting one.

There's a 20 point difference between 2nd and 3rd in Germany

There's a 20 point difference between 3rd and 4th in Spain

There's a 12 point difference between 1st and 2nd in Italy

There's a 27 point difference between 1st and 2nd in France

And then there's us, with humble little Leicester at the top with a 7 point lead.

It doesn't matter how important a game is, you do not act like Spurs did tonight. There were career ending tackles flying all over the place, dirty play and just disgusting attitude all round.

So disappointed in them and I really hope the FA send some bans their way. No idea how there wasn't a red card shown.

Congratulations to Leicester.

I'm an American and non-fans here are talking about it. Absolutely unbelievable. Still hate Vardy though.

Yea if it's not United's to win, let's face it. Leicester were just about the least-worst option. City, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool? Nokthnx.

Leicester City now have more titles in the EPL than Liverpool.

Simply unbelievable. Not that bold of a prediction, but I think it's a small miracle if they get top four next season, especially if we get José. Stars just aligned this season.

This is a once in a lifetime moment, and i'm happy to have seen it happen as it became a reality.

Didn't beat us this season tho :P

Jokes aside, great achievement, wish I had absolutely any inkling it would happen so I could be rich now :P None of our rivals won it and that's sweet enough for me.

Take the FA Cup now and we can kick off the season against Leicester in the Community Shield too!

Peter Schmeichel's sperm has won more EPL titles than Liverpool

I cant believe Wenger has bottled it again

I know people get a bit 'Can't ever be happy for other clubs, blah blah blah' but it's nice to see a smaller team win it. It must be fantastic for their fans; it's really the result of a lifetime. In a way I think it's something that fans of bigger clubs don't quite get (because winning is more expected, and the big clubs are usually competing for it). Rather them than any of the other big clubs.

Glad they didn't win it with Vardy on the pitch. Fair play to them though, great underdog story that will go down in history

There's still a chance Arsenal finish above Spurs.

I put a cheeky $30 bet on them to win the league back in January

Fuck Robbie Savage....always has a dig at United. Just heard him compare Man Utd's buying power in the last two years being more than what Leicester have spent their entire history! According to http://www.transferleague.co.uk/leicester-city/english-football-teams/leicester-city-transfers they have spent a grand total of £122.9 million. Fucking Man City spent roughly £152.1 million last summer ALONE and the summer before that approx £87.5 million (total of £239.6 million). Liverpool spent £82.6 million last summer and the summer before that £117 million (a total of £199.6 million in last two years).

I bloody hate everyone trying to have a dig at United. I fucking hate Savage just because he was never good enough for us and he's been bitter ever since!

P.S. Well done to Leicester for winning the league.....massive achievement! Will be pretty hilarious (and yet unexpected) if they get relegated next year!
