Hi, Roen Horn. Physicist and mathematician Prof. Frank J. Tipler's Omega Point cosmology, which has been published and extensively peer-reviewed in leading physics journals, is a proof (i.e., mathematical theorem) demonstrating that sapient life (in the form of, e.g., immortal superintelligent human-mind computer-uploads and artificial intelligences) is required by the known laws of physics (viz., the Second Law of Thermodynamics, General Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) to take control over all matter in the universe, for said life to eventually force the collapse of the universe, and for the computational resources of the universe (in terms of both processor speed and memory space) to diverge to infinity as the universe collapses into a final singularity, termed the Omega Point. Said Omega Point cosmology is also an intrinsic component of the Feynman-DeWitt-Weinberg quantum gravity/Standard Model Theory of Everything (TOE) correctly describing and unifying all the forces in physics, of which TOE is itself mathematically forced by the aforesaid known physical laws. Me personally, I don't want to die, I love life, too. All the cool stuff I could see and do.
But, I don't think humanity would survive if people wouldn't die. Humanity strives on the next generation taking over the older generation. Any social progress was based historically on that simple principle. If people would live forever, we would live in an ultra-conservative society, with one religion and one social norm dominating every aspect of your life. I don't think I would be happy in a society where people like O'Reilly, Kim Jong-Un or Pat Robertson could live forever.

This is a very good point. I've never thought about it in this way. I would add that all scientific breakthroughs were made by young scientists. If we can extend our lives indefinitely, we will face the necessity to sharply reduce the number of children to be born, and that is a huge problem indeed.

+GhostHawk1776 I didn't say death was real. I just think beating death is possible, saying that an almighty god can beat death for you is absurd and superstitious. There is an abundant amount of evidence that we can prolong and even live indefinitely, instead of death choosing you, you can choose death and let aging kill you, aging is a disease, the biggest killer known to man, I could say you're living a fantasy for accepting this horrid fate. You think there is a god, okay that is your belief. I respect that but when you disrespect other people and make them accept death as it is, is where you're crossing the line, you cannot make that decision for them, it is rather patronizing

Everyone is scared of death, if you're not, I think you may need to talk to someone about your mental health. It is the truth, it is NORMAL to fear death but to act like it is NOTHING is also not normal!
