First off you need to understand sheperds pie. Indgridenets are key but every person has different taste. Too much worcestershire would overpower the meat yet not enough would make it feel like eating a hamburger. Personally I am a meat and veggies guy so I couldn't really care for the mashed potatoes. I am also not too fond of peas so if the place overloads peas I generally am not a big fan. So everyone's tastes are different. I will say Mr Dooleys is really good as it has a good portion size along with excellent meat to veggie ratio. The Green briar in brighton is also excellent.

I will try Druid thanks for recommendation

Were you only eating true Shepard's pie (made with lamb/mutton), or also Cottage pie (made with beef)?

Are we talking true as in "How the word was used when it first came into existence"

Or

Are we talking true as in "How the word is currently used"

Because Shephard's Pie has been the term applied to this culinary classic regardless of the type of meat since late 1800's....

At least try to be informed if you're going to attempt to be a pedant.

Why type of flock to Shepard's tend to? Do you know many Shepard's that tend to flocks of cow?

'The name "cottage pie" was first used at the end of the 18th century. It was around that time that the poorer people of Britain, people who lived in cottages in the country, started using potatoes as an everyday food. Originally, a pie made with any kind of meat and mashed potato was called a "cottage pie".

In modern British English, the dish is usually called "cottage pie" if it is made with beef. If it is made with lamb it is usually called "shepherd's pie" (because a shepherd looks after sheep).'

Lol a pedant who can't even fucking type, or apparently read.

Before you try being all condescending, you might want to try learning those basic skills...

Please don't fucking link the simplified wikipedia page to anything you are trying to win an argument over. It makes you look like a fucking idiot.

From the full version of the link you posted:

The term "shepherd's pie" did not appear until 1877,[2] and since then it has been used synonymously with "cottage pie", regardless of whether the principal ingredient was beef or mutton.[1][4][9][7][8][10][11] Folk etymology has led to the term "shepherd's pie" being used when the meat is lamb,[12][13] as shepherds are concerned with sheep[14] and not cattle.[15][16][17]

You quite literally just proved yourself wrong.

Imbecile.

Sure you can read? Because it looks like you missed this part: 'the term "shepherd's pie" being used when the meat is lamb,[12][13] as shepherds are concerned with sheep[14] and not cattle.[15][16][17]'

How about another source Shepherds’ pie is made from ground lamb ( not beef; that would be cottage pie)

Oh, look, another: Let’s start with a fairly well-known one: there is a difference between “cottage pie” and “shepherd’s pie”, and it’s in the meat. Shepherd’s pie should only be named as such if it contains lamb, and “cottage” usually applies to one made with beef.

You linked to an article that gives contradicting information and you think that proves your point? Talk about an imbecile.

I'm sorry you're so simple you can't taste the difference between sheep and beef and feel no need to differentiate the difference between the two. No need to fly off the handle about ingredients, go down some of your meds before you hurt yourself.

Let me break this down for you:

I EXPANDED THE LINK YOU POSTED.

Fucking idiot, lol.

[–]TouchDownBurrito 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

And by doing so provided information that contradicts your claim....thanks.....

Is your life so sad you immediately resort to petty insults online to feel better about yourself?

He recommended Mr Dooley's which only sells pies made with beef.
