So I saw this thread over on rDon - about the billions California could save by deporting illegal immigrants.
Followed the link to the source, and found that the numbers were really bogus, they counted the total cost of programs that also serve large numbers of legal immigrants and American citizens.
So I posted this short rebuttal
Um, no.
Nearly half of those expenditures ($12.3 billion) result from the costs of K-12 education for the children of illegal aliens — both those illegally in the country and those born in the United States.
Another major outlay ($2.1 billion) results from the need to provide supplemental English language instruction to Limited English Proficient students, many of whom are children of illegal aliens.
So, the top 2 categories of 'savings' include large numbers of American citizens, and legal immigrants - neither of whom are candidates for deportation.
It got deleted by the mods.
To their credit, I wasn't banned, so they're a little better than chab...
