I can't work out why Rojo's been instructed to mark Morgan when it's clear he's not that great in the air. He always stays back when we have corners.

I can't help but feel it's more LvG's fault, realistically van Gaal should've put Smalling and Fellaini on Huth and Morgan.

He's not been that bad going forward or squaring up to Mahrez. He's just been shite on set pieces.

    I think he's been decent, he's been pretty accurate with sweeping it out to the wings, and has been getting Lingard and Valencia on the front foot. Think he should be offering more centrally though.

    Got downvoted a bit in the match thread for saying it but I really don't understand what Rojo brings to the team:

    He's poor at crossing the ball, he's not fast, defensively he's not been great (lost Morgan multiple times, fouled Mahrez and should have given away a penalty) and this match he seems to have forgotten how to pass the ball.

    I'm unsure the benefit of him over Darmian

      Darmian is still available, Fosu-Mensah as well. Both far, far better options than Rojo considering his performances since returning from injury. CBJ's not out, just returned to the U21s for no valid reason, he was playing way better than Rojo before he got injured.

      Yes, at LB. Darmian already played a few matches for us there this season, played loads of times there at Torino, and TFM can cover that position too, and well. Either of those are far better options than Rojo when the Argentine's performing like he has been since returning from injury. Serious liability at the back and hasn't offered anything going forward except for giving away balls to the Leicester defenders.

      1. Lingard tackled fairly. It's a physical game and he's not strong enough for those situations
      2. Rojo is done. Can't deal with Morgan at the back, passing quite ineffectual up top and lucky not to concede a penalty. Has to come off.

      We were so good in the first 10 minutes, but were dropping off towards the end of half with some sloppy passing. They will not degrade. we have to concentrate or we won't keep up.

      I reckon the only reason Rojo was selected was to mark Morgan on set pieces. Blind can't mark Morgan, and Smalling is marking Huth. So Rojo was selected in order to mark Morgan, but Rojo is just shit recently anyway and is doing a poor job of it. Bring on TFM who is just as physical, maybe he can do a better job.
