13' Lingard forces a great save from Schmeichel! A beautifully worked piece of play ends with Rojo crossing to Fellaini who chests and lays Lingard off but his near-post shot is well saved by Schmeichel.

16' LEICESTER CITY GOAL Drinkwater floats in a very good ball from a free kick and Morgan just runs onto it and easily nods past De Gea!

21' Martial wins a free kick in a dangerous position but Fellaini should be off the field. Elbows and slapped Robert Huth in the neck, but to be fair Huth was all over him... The free kick is into the wall and cleared.

30' Lingard is through after a bad mistake by Simpson! He eventually goes to ground under pressure from Lingard but despite all the appeals, there's no free kick or card given!

38' NERVY MOMENTS! Schlepp whips a great cross in that threatens De Gea's goal and he palms it away before Mahrez squares up Rojo and knocks the ball past him, but Oliver says he went down too easily in the box and there's no penalty given.

Apart from that, Carricks 3+ touches every time is beginning to grate.

Not playing poorly, but we need to concentrate when the ball is in the midfield, both when we're in possession and off the ball.

  • We've been able to keep Leicester from getting too many breakaways, helped by the pace of Vardy being missing, and Schlupp and Mahrez for the most part forced back to defend. In the first 10-15, our midfield was quick to close down on Kante and Drinkwater after we lost possession and stopped the ball being played out accurately, like we did well in the first half against Everton. Rooney, Fellaini, Carrick and Lingard have been the main players behind this press, and we need to be able to keep this up to keep the ball in our half.

  • The wings have been where we're looking to damage Leicester (who themselves are trying to keep the ball out wide). Although the wide men and one of Drinkwater and Kante have often drifted wide to help cover, we've been able to move the ball at a good tempo and get it out to our wingers before Leicester have been able to comfortably set up at times. From there, however, we could do more with our distribution, with the ball coming in too late at times, or a player holding it up and not being able to run in behind the full back after. If we could beat the full back quicker and get a lower cross in with more pace, it could prove dangerous (as with Valencia's assist) - the lofted balls, when not aimed at Fellaini, haven't been very effective. Overall, however, the wide men have done quite well, with the right looking especially productive.

  • Fellaini himself has been key in getting onto the end of crosses, often camping himself on Fuchs. With more of our play starting to come down the right, he needs to be quicker to assess the situation and perhaps move onto Simpson more often.

Rojo actually brings nothing to this team. All he does is cross (maybe LVG told him to do that...who knows), no matter who is in the box or not. Half the time he doesn't even look, he gets the ball and immediately just crosses. It's the same for his passing too, he'll see a teammate and just pass no matter how open the teammate is. It just gives the ball away really easily and especially for Leicester it creates the chance of a counterattack. Oh and then that defending on their goal...
