This is why the political opinions of actors are irrelevant, even when they're right.

A good reason why I think people from Hollywood should just stick to the entertainment industry.

Exactly. They're just actors. Some are very intelligent and academically accomplished, and others are not. Regardless, they're not career politicians.

I never understood how people whose career is reciting something someone else wrote while convincingly faking emotions are given any measure of respect. They're really not much more than beautiful clowns.

I think it's the fact that they get to pretend to be a bunch of different people. It leads them to think that they've had the life experiences and thus, wisdom of a bunch of different people. Kinda like how journalists think they are experts on everything despite knowing very little about a wide range of topics.

Or just that they're really good at their craft, and can tell stories convincingly from the perspective of characters who are wildly different from themselves. That's impressive, and worthy of respect. The mistake people make is placing that respect anywhere other than their acting abilities.

I respect anybody who's talented and good at their craft, but I don't assume that that talent or good-ness applies to other parts of their lives.

even when they're right

And that 1% of the time is so small anyway.

A stopped clock is right twice a day, and all that.

That's stupid. Anyone from any profession can be great politically, I mean Ronald Reagan was from Hollywood.

Its true when they say if Liberals didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

No it's not a double standard. you see what Lawrence meant to say is "it should be illegal to call WOMEN fat on TV." Men are fair game. You see this makes it not a double standard for some reason.

[–]IronPathologistSowellian Buckleyite 11

That's a different double standard... We've come full circle.

Liberals don't seem to care when a Cis person is involved. Especially a male...

To be fair, the Daily Mail basically is the king of sensationalism. There is no way to know what really happened just looking at the title.

Not to brag, but I've seen her butthole.

Hey me too! have it saved on my phone bwahahaa

I wonder if I can get it put on my capital one credit card...

Ehh I wouldn't say this has to do with her being liberal, more so just a stupid actress

[–]Masauca [

Same, why is this political? Are we politicising BMI now?

Society needs to stop worshipping these false gods

Edit: Vote me down all you want but we as a society put too much credence into what these celebrities think & say. Look on Facebook or Twitter and typically, the top trending topics involve celebrities. People are suffering across the country and we are worried about what somebody wore or them breaking up. It's pathetic.

You know why the youth are liberals? Because the left has hijacked the schools and the entertainment industry (movies, TV, music). Children have been sexualized by the media as never before. The valueless principles of Hollywood have been drilled into young people's heads.

If we want to change the future of America we conservatives need to retake the schools and the entertainment industry.

Frankly this is taken quite a bit out of context.

Not that I necessarily agree with her opinions, but this is less than a tempest in a teapot.

You do realize that the titles are made up by subeditors, and the copy is made up by journalists, and neither has anything to do with what Jennifer Lawrence said?

I looked it up:

'I finally get to make out with Christian Bale and he's a really fat guy,'" Russell recalled Lawrence, 23, saying while filming the crime drama. She said: "'He's Fatman, not Batman.'

She is making a joke that when she finally got to "make out" with Bale it was after he gained a lot of weight for the role.

Liberal actress said something stupid? I'm shocked...

Christian Bale is "chubby" now?

Only in comparison:

A beer belly, amd she throws that insult? I'm sorry but that's just a bitch move.

Ands it's her job too to kiss that. She's getting payed millions to do it

[–]Queer_of_the_Sluts 2ポイント3ポイント  (5子コメント)

I haven't seen American hustle but maybe he put on weight for the role.

He did, he is well known for his weight changes for roles.

[–]Queer_of_the_Sluts 3ポイント4ポイント  (1子コメント)

That guy is insane, props.

He ended up messing his spine up by the amount of weight and posturing that he did

Imagine Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder and that's basically how Bale was for AH

I'm sure she wasn't fat shaming the guy, if you know of her she likes to joke around. It's different when people know you look good and you put on weight for a role vs when you live your life everyday being ridiculed for being fat, that's kinda when fat shaming vs joking in this context comes around.

[–]I_FUCK_UP_RECIPES 9ポイント10ポイント  (0子コメント)

also, christian bale is legendary in hollywood for changing his weight from role to role. he went from 115 in machinist to 240 before batman begins in less than 18 months. and to be clear, that's 240 with like 8% bodyfat max.

there is nobody in hollywood who trains their body harder than bale or is more successful in doing it, so I doubt he gives a shit. her joke was clear: she wanted 240lb rippling muscle bale in batman, not the character he gained fat weight to play in hustle.

She likes to joke around. But she's also uncomfortable because her body hovers around the border between hot and "she could lose 5 -10 pounds" and she often gets criticized for her body.

Which is why she went ape shit her naked pics got out.

I like her but hahahahaha.

This is stretching it. It was a joke; take ripped, "billionaire playboy" Batman Begins era Christian Bale compared to balding, toupee-wearing, potbelly Bale. Regardless of fat vs skinny, there's a clear difference.

If that wasn't enough, she's also ruining the new X-Men movie.

I really am so proud of myself that I don't give one rat's shilling what people like her say.

I would love to ask her why. Why would this particular issue be important enough to basically rip up the constitution over. Because we through around 1st amendment rights/free speech around a lot, but what she is advocating for would be exactly what the 1st amendment protects - the ability to say what you want without being thrown in jail for it.

However irrational it may be since I've never once met her, I've always felt that J-Law was a garbage human being.

Liberal hipocracy aside, and I say this as straight male, how the hell could any straight woman be reluctant to makeout with Christian Bale, chubby or not.

The standards are high, and now I feel inadequite.
