Hey, mate, look what I found. I'm curious what Erwin and Yukari would have to say about that :P

What do you think, /u/djhusky99, mate?

sniff sniff I smell overzealous detractors.

Well, it's well cited, which is more than I can say about those KwK 36 articles I had to clean up that only linked to achtungpanzer.net or whatnot

So what? I don't get the point.

Oh, nevermind. Say, are you the one who made that Wikipedia article?

[–]Darjeeling and Assam's Knight in Shining ArmourMaxRavenclaw 0ポイント1ポイント  (11子コメント)

I am not. I'm not that good and well read yet. I have the same username on Wikipedia so you can check the article history if you don't believe me. Is it so hard to believe that maybe that article is right to the point where you think I personally forged it?

No, you get me wrong, I asked that because when I looked at the guy's history I noticed he doesn't treat such matters with impartiality, he is clearly biased, hence he makes and/or could make use of sources or statements that aren't impartial either. Strange, I always thought that in order to create or edit Wikipedia articles a requirement such impartiality should be imperative, otherwise one should have at least the common sense to avoid to post on Wikipedia at all.

Hereby this discussion is over, further developements are irrelevant once we take note of the fact that the guy is taking such matters on a subjective point of view. I wish you a nice day.

Running away again I see. Tsk tsk tsk.

There's more than one guy editing that article. And it's well cited. Why don't you go ahead and read the books cited in there, or are you too busy still reading Wehrmacht memoirs? Man, you make me so sad. So, so sad.

EDIT: Hmm, strange, I didn't downvote you, but we both have a score of 0, me on all comments and you on some...

And you seem to divert topics on unrelated arguments as usual. Tsk tsk tsk.

Firstly I already made clear my point, if you look at the guy's history and at his statements you can't do nothing but admit that I'm right. Secondly I subscribed to Garupan subreddit with the sole intention to share my love for the show with others; I've been already clear on that point earlier.

However that article it's almost useless since in the end it doesn't say anything. For almost half the article basically the guy says that Germany made use of wartime propaganda. Eureka! What a discovery! You don't say?! And here I thought that during wars Nations didn't made use of propaganda in order to boost the morale of their own peoples! Extraordinary!

In the end the guy says almost anything of new and puts everything in a form of whiney rant about Rommel.

Oh come on Max now don't be paranoid on me, pull yourself together. I rarely care about upvotes/downvotes thing, mainly because I'm new to Reddit and I know little about karma system, I usually prefer to leave things untouched even though sometimes I make use of upvotes, but I find downvotes useless almost as that Wikipedia article since if I disagree on something with someone I prefer to put my face and my words against his words rather than banally push a mere button.

I didn't divert as much as initiate the subject.

Yeah, I didn't accuse you of downvoting. Just found it strange that someone downvoted us both. Meh, doesn't matter really.

However that article it's almost useless since in the end it doesn't say anything.

It says that Rommel was not the saint he is portrayed by many to be and that insisting on such an ignorant idea detracts from what we can learn from him.

Man, it still bugs me that you so deny so easily. Modern historians agree, /r/AskHistorians agrees, /r/BadHistory agrees, but you just don't want to. I can't believe you can be so much in denial. Normally, guys with your opinions are either idiots or realize their mistakes eventually, but you're neither. I feel that I'm just not getting through to you.

For example, you said that the idea that Rommel was not as good as some said appeared post-war. That is completely erroneous. it was the only way around. The so called "victors" you say write history actually said he was a great guy, and only recently did the Clean Wehrmacht myth started shattering. This is a simple example of lack of knowledge. That's why I think you're still savable, that somehow I can give you the knowledge you need to see your mistakes. Especially since you try to run away and avoid the confrontation. I keep the hope that maybe a part of you realizes something not right. Otherwise, you'd just curse me, say I'm an idiot and block me. That's what unredemable wehraboos do.

You see, you're making this debate a monologue, if this is your ultimate conclusion on me then this shows me that you took my words, you ignored or rejected them and you made your own version of our debates.

Besides it's fun how your concept of modern historians is always limited by these two subreddits. But let's not divert the actual point of my reply now.

You proved me three things: 1) That you mostly lack of your own rational and critical thought as you mostly revolve on things pre-masticated by these two subreddit.

2) That you tend to extremize every topic and every context of our debates when obviously most of the times In medio stat virtus.

I never said that Rommel was a saint that's an extremization, I said it was a good man, it's very different. And I never said that Wehrmacht was clean (again another extremization that you put in my mouth), not an army in WWII was clean; I said that Wehrmacht soldiers are demonized and they don't deserve all the disrespect they're recieving. Firstly because they were men like anyother and secondly because even if you have to reason with your mind you also have to put yourself in the shoes of an average German who lived in the Third Reich's period.

And 3) the one which maybe bothers me the most: Basing your arguments on your own World of extremizations and redditers who eventually say things about WWII (see points 1. and 2.) you came to accept them as face value and you don't want to hear ring other bells than the ones you want to hear.

So that in the end you developed the thought that what you want to hear and what you learned to repeat is the real and only great truth while if others say to you different things then they're automatically wrong and if you can't prove them wrong you extremize their words so that they can sound wrong and you're able to make the second step, soar yourself as the only saviour who can save who is wrong from his mischevous point of view enlightening him with the real truth.

For these reasons (together with the fact that I'm here only for GuP related things) I don't see any point in arguing with you and I would prefer that our reciprocal interactions were limited to arguments concerning Garupan.

Thank you and have a nice day.
