patently false. If you don't have a degree from an ABET accredited university, you are NOT an engineer. A technician, designer, or draftsman, sure, but not an engineer.

The #1 thing that mattered is that the net propulsion was higher than the net weight, everything else was just details. People have already made several of these that work much better using Octocopter technology. This is a shitty, super dangerous version of the octocopter variety at best.

The level of dislike have and how you used the word actual engineer seems to indicate that playa you hating. Chill, give credit where it is due. This is impressive work.

Yeah, I'll give him credit for doing dangerous shit he barely understands like Mythbusters and getting enough fans that don't understand what a hack he is and for using the help of Ford engineers to pull this off in the first place.

He's not an engineer, I am. He's a hack, I'm not. His creations are shit and hokey at best, and many of them have been done before much better by real engineers. Being impressed by him is like being impressed by a mediocre dish cooked by someone that didn't go to culinary school. Also, the dish is technically poison and could kill you at any time.

I was commenting on you specifically and on engineers who don't sweat the details generally.

I don't know you so blah blah blah.

But as an engineer I wouldn't want to be caught suggesting the details in a design aren't important. It's why I think you either aren't an engineer or are having a nice trolling session.

As for the dude in the video...I challenge you to build what he built...an exact replica even. Then you'd appreciate the effort put into the build, the documentation (video), and the guys knack for working with his hands.

He may not have the formal education but that part is easy. Taking a formally educated "engineer" and teaching them the practical part is challenging. Especially when the practical part is building things.

Ask me how I know......I can analyze all day. It's taken me years to figure out the practical limitations imposed by meat.
