Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject:

If Liverpool win Europa, this means they get an automatic spot in the CL next season? If this is the case, essentially who ever finishes 4th gets bumped from CL play?

So, maybe 3rd is a much better result for us than 4th with Liverpool in contention to possibly win Europa?

Manchester City has to win CL and finish outside Top 4 and Liverpool has to win EL and finish outside Top 4 in order for the 4th place to not get in CL.

5 English teams will go through to CL. This includes the top 4, plus the Europa winner.

If Man City and Liverpool finish outside of the top 4, but they win the CL and Europa league, then we get kicked out of CL.

Assuming we finish fourth:

  1. City win CL and Liverpool win EL - We miss out.
  2. City win CL, Liverpool don't win EL - We get CL.
  3. City don't win CL, Liverpool win EL - We get CL.
