Timothy Fosu-Mensah: My promise to Man Utd fans ahead of Leicester clash

Timothy Fosu-Mensah has promised Manchester United’s fans that he will keep his head down and continue to work hard after breaking into the first team this season.

The Dutch teenager has earned plenty of new admirers for his performances for the Red Devils since being drafted into the first team by Louis van Gaal in recent weeks.

The 18-year-old defender played 62 minutes to help Manchester United book their place in the FA Cup final thanks to a 2-1 win over Everton at Wembley last weekend.

He has made a total of nine appearances for the Red Devils in recent weeks and has produces performances beyond his years for the club.

And the defender insists that he is determined to work harder than ever to improve his game as he bids to hold down a regular spot in the United first team.

Speaking to United’s website, Fosu-Mensah said: “I’m very delighted [to see the fans’ reaction] but, as I said, I have to keep working hard.

“I just try to keep my head cool and try to do what I always do when I play and focus on playing my game.”
