10' United have looked bright on attack through Martial and Rashford and it's taken some desperate Everton defending to get the ball clear and United build to attack again.

11' LINGARD IS PLAYED THROUGH OVER THE TOP BUT HIS SHOT IS STRAIGHT INTO ROBLES' CHEST! VERY GOOD BALL AND VERY GOOD CHANCE!

15' Defence has been non-existent in this game for both sides. Lukaku sprints past the defence but his shot is saved by De Gea from a very tight angle.

20' The game has been camped around the Everton box and we're passing it around well and playing good balls through! Martial is played through the defence but his shot is way too high and the chance is wasted!

30' The game has slowed down and Everton have gotten more into it. De Gea with a few easy saves to make but we're still waiting for a breakthrough.

i cant recall any better performance from us, this is such a joy to watch.

Still we had a lot of chances but either we're not lucky enough or our execution is just that bad, none of those were counted, but hey, its exciting football, and I love it.

One of our best halves of the season, though we should really have capitalised with 2-3 goals and still lucky not to concede.

Young pacey forwards cutting defences open, this is what we want for United isn't it? Great to see, just need to be more clinical.

Everton look lethargic, Besic is poor at full back, Jagielka's playing on one leg, Stones is off with the fairies at times.

Only change I'd consider making now is Valencia for TFM, he's been pretty timid and wasted a lot of passes, got caught out of position once or twice and lucky Baines at his age has lost his pace. On the other hand Valencia came back in fantastic form and disregarding fitness deserved to start.

LVG's main stamp on this squad will be the youth. But, if he can finally get Rooney playing the deep role well, it could be a massive contribution to United moving forward. Rooney no longer has the pace, but is an incredible passer of the ball. If LVG can get him to master the attacking midfield/playmaker role, he's handing his successor one hell of a weapon.

Lingard all of a sudden playing like a real playmaker. Love it.

Side note: The youngsters are doing so much better with LvG's instructions. They have the hunger and the naivety to follow their instructions to a tee. I can absolutely see next year being a success if we keep LvG even though he gets all of the hate. I can see the same thing coming through that he built at Ajax, Barca and AZ. It's percolating.

Best game I've watched in a long time. Martial is an absolute beast and I'd like more of Rooney's amazing passes, please.

Gotta say that I think Blind did a better job with Lukaku the last time round though. The commentator made a point about Smalling being a better physical match-up but I think Blind was reading Lukaku a lot better.

Let me just clarify that I'm a big fan of big Timmo, but I can feel he gets frustrated and I feel like he doesn't wanna be played in the position he is playing now. His positioning can be a bit off. When he makes a mistake he immediately hangs his head. He's making silly mistakes this game and could really kill his confidence.

The difference between Welbeck and Rashford for me is that when I'd watch I would will him to score, but when I watch Rashford I feel he's going to. Like you just know if he gets a bit of space he will make something happen. Great stuff.

he doesn't seem to get a lot of respect here, but Lingard is giving a masterclass out there. He is running and finding a ton of space, which is so imortant given how deep Everton are sitting. He made that goal - his movement and showing for the ball allowed the movement which could get Martial isolated on the left. He is also working really well with Fella to allow him to charge forward when needed. May not be the most technically gifted player, but he has a great mental feel for the game. He is the oil in the United machine right now.
