This thread was posted in /r/CFB about an hour or so ago detailing a ShaggyTexas thread detailing a Texas A&M student running fake Twitter accounts, using them to tweet racist things at University of Texas recruits, and then using those tweets on a separate account as evidence that UT students are racist.

UPDATE: The /r/CFB thread has been deleted for unknown reasons while I was typing this! It does not appear to be due to doxxing because it doesn't have the admin's [Deleted for violating the content policy] stamp or whatever. So fuck it, lucky for you I still have the full text of the post. The mods claim that the user themselves deleted the post. Either way, this deserves to be somewhere.

Hey guys,

Weird story developing over the last few days. I'll start by posting the complete breakdown of everything that happened up to yesterday evening, which was organized by THujone on ShaggyTexas:

Here's the basic breakdown:

A guy running a relatively large TAMU-centric twitter account appears to have been creating sock accounts on Twitter, using them to tweet awful, racist things at Texas recruits under the guise of Texas fans, then retweeting those racist things from his TAMU account and personal accounts to give them publicity.

A couple of guys on the Shag noticed that these racist accounts, claiming to be Texas fans, were not followed or liked by anybody but this @FigurelliSports kid, and they liked and followed only @FigurelliSports's other alternate A&M accounts. So alleged "Texas" fans were only following and liking Texas A&M things.

When the Shag called him out via Twitter on his @FigurelliSports handle, he denied everything. However, all of the racist accounts immediately went private, then the retweets related to the racist accounts on @FigurelliSports were deleted.

Then, over the last 24 hours the following happened:

• @FigurelliSports was changed to @BC__Recruiting, a Boston College recruiting blog which appears to already be tweeting inaccurate information
• All previous tweets from @FigurelliSports, including those challenging people calling him a racist, were deleted.
• All the racist accounts were deleted
• All remaining tweets related to the original racist tweets were deleted
• Multiple non-CFB-related socks were also deleted
• UH fans came to the Shag to reveal that the kid did the same thing on the UH message boards earlier this year, claiming Houston was going to the Big 12. Remember that? That was this kid, creating sock accounts to support his reputation. When confronted with matching IPs for multiple accounts, he disappeared.

He's now threatening to sue the Shag, and the site owner has already laughed him out of the room.
