Why? Explain why doing a long corner with terrible corner takers and incredible height difference is a better choice than doing a short corner that puts defenders out of place and creates less risk of a counter? I seriously don't understand that thought process. The short corners are just as successful as the long ones, you only notice it failing more often because it looks different.

It would be one thing if we were using the short corners to get a better angle for crossing into the box, but when the short corner ends up being pass back and forth in the corner before slipping out for a goal kick or another corner then it seems like a waste of time - especially for the CB's who've come all the way up the pitch in order to try and attack off of the set piece.

Yeah that's the downside to it. It isn't perfect, but it beneficial for the team we have right now. Till we have someone who is great at delivery and a little bit of more height, we benefit more from this.

    Palace have been so poor and we've lacked quality. Only once have we come close to challenging the keeper. Rooney has looked OK also. Valencia has looked very good.

    Wow, our players are hungry today. Movement is a lot better, especially when players are without the ball. Our pressure has been very effective in shutting Palace down offensively.

    Rooney and Valencia have also played amazingly. Rooney's long balls have sped up our offense quite a bit, and that's something that we haven't seen with Fellaini or Carrick. Valencia has been showing his old self. Beating defenders, making effective passes, and his pace on the right is something we've needed.

    All of this could be attributed to a weak Palace side, but we saw that Villa game. We were horrendous. I honestly do think that Rooney and Valencia have flipped the switch. Sure, our only goal was a lucky own goal off of a cross, but we have created so many more chances than usual.

    the only frustrating thing about the first half performance is seeing great wide play, only to have no one in the box to capitalize on it. even for the OG Lingard had to rush into the box from the wing in order for there to even be someone in the box.

    Glad we're playing attacking football, but it's definitely interesting to see that we're focusing on creating dominance on the wings at the expense of options in the box.

    This game looks perfect for Memphis to come on and have a go at the defenders. maybe taking Rashford off and moving Martial up top.

    We do them to keep possession, as the chances of scoring from a normal corner are very slim, but the chances of losing possession and getting countered on are very high. It's dull to see but I understand why we do it.
