Thank you Kickstarter for handling the problem :)
And good job guys. It's nice to see the Kickstarter community being so active and willing to defend innovation against easy money.
Big Mac about 2 hours ago
@Chris C, you make an excellent point. Enough backers did exactly what Creator said and reported this project to Kickstarter. The fool even posted the link to make reporting as easy as possible. I mean, I only ever do what I'm told so what choice did I have but to hit the button? It is really delicious irony that we did what he said then he/Margarine/etc scream their tits off when the project gets suspended. Ya gotta wonder what good college did for Made in College.
On another note, I love what Mattie boy said here: "Kickstarter needs to regulate its community better to prevent obviously disingenuous people from ruining startup culture." I agree entirely. Disingenuous people like Made in College certainly are ruining startup culture. But then again, is MIC a startup? After all, they say they are a full service accelerator with a project lead yadayadayada. MIC, what are you - startup or full service accelerator? If the latter, what the f**k does it mean anyway?
Thank you.

Thanks everyone for the continued love and support! We've reached out to Kickstarter providing evidence and more info about our project. We completely trust in the process and hope to resolve this quickly.

Sorry for the delay--we'll be in touch shortly I'm sure!

@Creator + whatever account you subsequently set up to post via
Surely you have to see the funny side of all this.
You posted many many times including the link, almost begging people to report this project.
They did exactly what you told them and now your throwing your toys out of your pram.
If you don't find it funny I have to say I do, its not often you see someone so dumb as to instruct people on how to burn possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars of their money by simply following their instructions.
That said, you would of thought that would have been a lesson to you and the silly posts would stop but no, you just carry on taking your foot out of your mouth so you can ram the other one in.

Seems odd to me that several brand new accounts with a sole project backed (Margarine Baker, Mr. White, and tstump) are weighing in in favor of this project, while those who are suspicious have been around for a while and backed multiple projects.
I wonder if Kickstarter logs IP Addresses...
Robert Fixer Smith about 11 hours ago
one falsehood to shut some people up is that you can always pledge whatever you want to most any KS project, even $1, even if they don't shot it on the reward tiers. Once you are in the Manage Pledge page, there is always a "No Reward" options that you can enter in any amount.

in short Quickdraw copies belaycords and then raises $28k ON KICKSTARTER. The question is, is bigmac associated with them? so many complaints about not receiving their cables and so many "unauthorized devices". It sounds like quickdraw is not even MFI certified. BigMac backs them and doesn't leave one comment about a copy of the belaycords product--then leaves a myriad of comments with obvious fervor.

I think you're mistaken… this is Kickstarter, they don't collect the pledges till the end so there's nothing to refund. @bigmac no news is not good news...LOL quickdraw is crap and a blatent copy of belaycords. you can't say this project copies another and then say quickdraw doesnt. oh because they add a little LED to a cable they're unique? doubtful. I'll contact apple and see if they have record of it being MFI certified. however, the backers already said it says "this cable is unauthorized"--which means they arent even certified by apple. an obvious ripoff kickstarter project--something we're seeing more and more here

@Margarine, I meant to add that my QD cable has a handy little light on the end which glows orange when charging and green when fully charged. So it's not identical. Calm down and have a nice day.
Big Mac about 17 hours ago
@Margarine, yes I got myQuickdraw cable and love it. Yes, it is MFI certified. Yes, it always works. Yes, no news is good news - if it had a problem I would comment on it. No, I'm not associated with them - if I was, wouldn't I be shouting my praise of their product all over their comments page?
@Creator, if you think Kickstarter will un-suspend you, you're delusional. All pledges have already been refunded. They'll use this project as an example to demonstrate how well they protect and look after their backer community. Anyway, just limp away and lick your wounds. No doubt you'll find another Chinese manufacturer who wants you to front a project for them. I recommend you use Indiegogo for the next scam - they let creators delete comments from backers.
Margarine Baker about 17 hours ago
@Daryl there is zero chance you can get these for $1 in china...If you can i'll buy as many as u can get. Just shipping into the US by boat would be a couple thousand more..then you pay import taxes and still need to ship the Kozes out... so even if we say $1 per, then you add $10 for import and VAT, $15 for shipping and packaging materials, kickstarter takes 20%...you're already getting close. I would bet these cost around $30 to make with any kind of durable materials
Margarine Baker about 17 hours ago
@Sam they've said a million times they're even patent pending. the only way to know for sure is to see who acquires the patent first. Whats the difference between the million wallets on here and this? and how many of those "minimalist (read: shit) wallets" are on here, identical...Kickstarter enforces this policy very sporadically...madeincollege just sue them!

Big Mac about 19 hours ago
My own take on the process in general, and this creator in particular, is a little different. I used to think that Kickstarter creators came up with ideas and scoured the world to find manufacturers who can turn the ideas into products. There are still projects like that e.g. Coolest Cooler (but look what happened to that one).
I've come to realise that most of this stuff is driven by manufacturers who are constantly trying to differentiate and compete by coming up with ideas, making prototypes and then looking for people in consumer markets to front the projects. The reality is that most of the manufacturers these days are Chinese and many of the front men are Americans because of the large consumer demand. There would be agents who source front men for Chinese manufacturers and I think that's what happened here.
As for this Creator, you don't have to scratch the surface too deep. Rent a Goat is easy to associate with Matthew Richmond and it's a classic low cost low maintenance franchise system from a self-described "serial entrepreneur". These sort of people gravitate towards crowdfunding platforms like flies to faeces. Then they build themselves up to be serious players ("full service accelerator") with good systems/processes/governance ("board/project lead") constantly innovating to make the world a better place. But all they do is spruik, make money and move on to the next world's greatest/newest/smallest/best ...
Made in College "created" Puffin Spray on KS and realised it was crap. So they sold their backers on to a similar project called Liquidoff. MIC created nothing and delivered nothing. Next was BelayCords with the promise of delivery in the same month the funding closed. The. Same. Month. Of course that didn't happen - delayed month after month. And then the dreaded Lifetime Guarantee. Seriously? Many of the cables were crap and they demanded backers pay to ship the old ones back and have their new ones shipped back. Maybe not so bad in the US but what about Europe or anywhere else?
And now their latest grand adventure: Koze. Say. No. More.
Heather K B about 20 hours ago
I still want a KOZE, anybody know how to get in touch with these guys besides the Belay website ?
Dāvis Freimanis about 20 hours ago
Margarine, good for you, mine stopped working after 2 months of VERY LIGHT use (only on desk plugged in) and it had issues with the message: "this cable might not be apple mfi certified" almost from the 1st week of use!
Erik Neuhaus about 20 hours ago
Lol someone is massively uninformed, up until as recently as 2013 you could have something called first-to-invent status which if it showed evidence that you had created the product prior to another entity filing with the patent office could be used to overrule their filing. Nowadays the date filed matters supremely, but that is only in the USA. Many countries still have first-to-invent status and when it comes to international patents that is where things get very murky.
That is something for them to handle, I like though that you are holding the obvious creator to a higher standard than these "creators" who have repeatedly refused to show their non-existent patent number. FYI "patent-pending' means nothing, I could be patent-pending a blatent copy of an existing product but obviously it would be rejected in the end. All it says is that you put in some money to file. Literally anyone with half a brain can see that the dutch guy invented the closure that this entire utility patent case would circulate around. The shape of a product falls more under trademark (sometimes design patent) if it is synonymous with the product in the public eye (think coke bottle). Also the obvious fake accounts created by the creator are REALLY unneeded at this point, quite frankly really pathetic too. You can easily tell them apart by their rabid defense of this company combined with their JUST joining kickstarter to back this project. They will even copy line for line what the creator says like about the non-existent $1 pledges, or the patent-pending nonsense.
Margarine Baker about 21 hours ago
