The butthurt. I can sense it.

Look buddy. You can make all the generalizations about America that you want. But like I said, you won't find a population that loves it's own country regardless of said country's flaws more than us Americans.

Have I ever seen somebody get shot? No. Do I worry about healthcare? Sometimes. Do I give a shit? Nah.

Because you know what? You're "safe" up there in Finland aren't you because you don't have any worries don't you? You're all white. For the most part. Until those Syrian immigrants get there.

But you won't find a bigger diversity of population than the United States. And you know what? Considering all the opposing religions, races, political ideologies, and more that we have here we are doing alright.

Not to mention... I feel like I'm probably more likely to get shot somewhere in Columbia or Venezuela you know where there's communist insurgencies in the jungles but that's just me. Or in Syria/Iraq where IS is running around.

Because I can guarantee you if IS gets anywhere near your border your entire country will be begging for the Russians or the United States to intervene.

You keep thinking that you're safe buddy. Maybe one day when you're older you'll understand.

Guys, quit it. Canada doesnt like it when they get riled up. We really don't want to have to burn down their white house again.

We all know that was just a house party gone wrong. Fuss up Canada you dropped the candlestick!

You do realise a lot of the unrest in South America and Middle East comes from your own country interfering right? The majority of the world sees America as the number one obstacle to world peace.

I appreciate you're proud of your country but telling people you're 'the greatest' is only going to wind people up. Also no one truly great needs to tell the world that.

Try a new approach- be proud of the good things and critical of the bad and never say you're better than anyone else.

It's not like I'm critical of the United State's past. I know that our country is probably the #1 anti-world peace thing. Mostly because if there was world peace military such as ours would be irrelevant and that's not good for military contractors now is it? :p

However at this stage I still do love my damn country. Flaws and all. And that's what I said in the original comment. This country has a shit ton of flaws but there's truly no place I'd rather live. Sure there's places that'd be cool to live in like the South of France, Sweden, Norway, Australia, and more but none of those I'd ever truly like.

That's also not what the original post was about but may have devolved into at some point because well, I hate seeing people hate on us for something like World War Two or how much we love our country.

I know that Hitler's legacy about nationalism is not of an ewww thing in Europe but you can't criticize other countries in other parts of the world for what is arguably a different kind of nationalism.

It's radically different nationalism than was in Germany and honesty not very distasteful IMO in that "German" way.

You can go to a huge redneck place like Alabama and get a gigantic list of things wrong with our country (probably including the word "liberal" a lot) but if you ask them if they love America you'll probably get a resounding yes.

It's something you don't understand I suppose unless you live here. It's a part of every American and for the most part we love our country more than usual. And that's completely fine.
