As a Latino, I'm fine with this joke. He does look like Neit T and he does looks Latino so that's funny, good job. However, what does grind my gears is that everyone immediately assumes he is Mexican as if Mexican is a race. Spanish speaker does not equal Mexican Reddit. There are 21 Spanish speaking countries in the Americas. So from now on Reddit, if you see someone that you think may be Mexican, just say Latino.

Btw, that dude looks more Dominican than anything else.

As a South American I can day that each country has a stereotyped look, Bolivians are short with a round head, Peruvians have a big nose, Chileans look human but have this strange language that no human can follow, Argentinians are white snobbish assholes, etc etc etc.

This is really interesting. What stereotypes do Puerto Ricans and Colombians have?

To be honest I don't know much about that since they don't share a border with us, but I'm sure a neighbor could say more

Puerto Rico = Wannabe American

Colombia = Wannabe Telenovela Star

    What about people that look Spanish speaking but speak Portuguese? Or people that speak Spanish but look white, like the Spanish?

    BTW we the people from Spain look white because we are white, we are part of Europe :p

    I think there's significant Moor heritage in Spain, isn't there? So a lot of Spaniards don't look all that white.

    He might not even be latino, looks Indian or Pakistani to me

    I was thinking the same. His eyes are what makes him appear to be Indian/Pakistani rather than hispanic.

    I feel like my Spanish speaking friends tell me profiling is wrong. Then they get mad if their ethnicity gets misidentified. I can either pay attention to physical features of specific races to identify them by race or I can not see race. They're mutually exclusive. Which one is it supposed to be?

    People incorrectly replace Hispanic with Mexican. Although Hispanic itself is actually a mix of 3 distinct ethnicities (Central/South American natives, Africans and Spanish) who's main ties are language and religion.

    That's what grinds your gears? How about the fact that some creep snapped a picture of a stranger almost certainly without asking.
