I lead the Trade Union, so yes. I have no idea what our plans are right now, but we do play on public with the other groups on the Underground every so often. One of those times would be fine

No, that isn't correct. It would flood the secondary bond market, but the US gov't wouldn't be affected because the initial bond was already sold.

Federal government salaries are a matter of public record, so this doesn't apply for those positions

A substantial amount of former RRF folks play right now on Dayz Underground.

Hell, the Polana Trade Union has an actual medical corps made of RRF medics =)

Zillow basically told me to f*ck off when I asked if they could make an index of housing size by city over time (they have the data...this is easy).

So I scrapped 100% of Zillow's listings and did it myself. VPN.

It would be better if you explained your position as to why rather than giving someone who isn't an economics heavyweight a link.

First, the idea that regulation drives up housing price by restricting housing supply is not new (See Gyourko and Glaesar 2006)

Secondly, Zillow is weird. They want their data to be used by economists, but they don't listen to or respond to inquiries from us.

Thirdly, regulation is endogenous to the residents of the city. You need an exogenous shock. Cities with high house price growth and or regulatory growth might also be attracting people for other reasons too.

Fifthly, regulation is endogenous. Did I say that already?

Also, the article isn't by the chief economist but by a research analyst (aka someone with a BA). So the bivariate regressions make sense in that context

The really simple version.

House prices affect individuals with different amounts of human capital, differently. Because of a positive relation between human capital and earnings, and the fact that we spend less on housing (as a% of total income) as we earn more, this means that higher human capital individuals should be less sensitive to house prices.

A previous test of this idea tested this theory using presence of a college degree. The theory should hold for any form of human capital. So I went crazy and out on a limb and tested it using obesity status. It worked, its robust, and survives an instrument.

My other paper coming out of my dissertation was accepted to my professsional association's national conference. I'm 2/2 for getting my papers into important conferences in the last year.

And the best part is that I will have probably defended before I present.
