Haim Saban, owner of Univision, just bought a 40% stake in the onion with an option to buy it out right in the future.

Guess who Haim Saban is???? Hilary. Clinton's number one doner. I wonder if the Hilary camp doesn't want any satire or comedic reporting to blow up against their candidate.

I love his you start it off with "the owner of Univision" instead of "the guy who invented the power rangers"

"The billionaire whose self-professed dominant political interest is U.S. support of Israel."

I'm pretty sure his dominant political interest is opposing Lord Zedd.

Zedd is nothing compared to the Machine Empire. At least, they're about equal levels of threat.

Now imagine Maria Elena Salinas in a ranger uniform

Literally the top article on the Onion right now is about Hillary's FBI investigation. If that's his endgame, he's doing a pretty shitty job.

It dismisses it all as unworthy news though, making Hillary look better through the satire. If we aren't allowed to see all of her emails, then she shouldn't have done what she did. She know better too.

Uh...nothing in that article really dismisses it as unworthy/untrue. I think you're just seeing the bias that you already think is there.

Or maybe it's a joke

When a billionaire political activist buys a platform for himself, articles relating to his ONLY political concern (Israel, and Hillary by extension) are not going to be "just jokes." I've been boycotting the Onion since then because I saw a piece almost immediately after I heard of the purchase that went out of its way to present Hillary as not all that bad through sarcastically pointing out her flaws, suggesting that they are irrelevant.

Clinton is a proven liar and flip-flopper, and is held by the rich people that have supported her to this point. It's depressing to see your favorite satire site pick sides in the Democratic primary for selfish reasons, without thinking about the real thoughts of a logical person.

TLDR Hillary is a liar. The Onion made it obvious it was supporting her. I'm not going to be supporting either.

1) Onion articles are written and headlines picked a certain amount of time beforehand.

2) The writers could give a shit about who owns it. They haven't since the founders sold it.

3) If they ever were forced to avoid mocking a subject, they'd make it known and there would be an uproar amongst Onion writers and ex-Onion Writers.

Source: Knows a guy who wrote for the Onion

This is a ridiculous claim and a quick search on the Onion for Clinton shows tons of articles and headlines criticising her.

It's possible for a satirical news source, or really any news source, to display multiple perspectives and critique multiple sides. Just because a couple articles actually happened to challenge you recently doesn't discount The Onion's validity. If you really believe what you're saying, I have to question whether you previously read The Onion because it confirmed your world view or because you actually enjoyed critical satire.

None of them are actually critical of her though, the tone is always "public reaction to the inevitable candidate taken to the extreme".

[–]Mickhead [

Have you read the article? It satirizes the investigation as being over the top and desperate, it doesn't satirize Hillary Clinton at all except for one very bland quip at the end.

Literally a few days ago they published this. If The Onion is in the pocket of the Clinton campaign, they're doing a real shit job promoting her.

There has literally been no change in the content of the articles since he bought them.

[–]YOURE_GONNA_HATE_ME [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Take off your fucking Tin Foil hat. Billionaires buy companies all the time. Not everything is some Hillary conspiracy.

It also didn't take long for a "not really satirical" Hillary article to come out after.

What if Heim Saban donated to the GOP candidates? You would give him shit as long as Heim Saban supports anyone who is not Bernie Sanders.

Or you could maybe read the onion and see that plenty of satirical articles are written about every candidate lol god sanders' supporters are insufferable

You're getting downvoted and I probably will too, but I completely agree. Saban doesn't automatically get creative control over The Onion by buying shares in the parent company. The Onion is not a concern for Hillary or any other candidate.

That spelling fudged my brain hard. I knew it wasn't right but could not think of the correct spelling. I was worried I was having a stroke for a second.
