This comes off like a lot of waffle, to be honest.

We play variations of 4231/433. People (The FIFA generation...) put too much weight into formations - the shape is constantly changing dependent on the phase of play. There is no strict set formation over 90 minutes.

Having one ball playing CB who sits deeper and one aggressor is nothing new. Neither is having fullbacks that bomb forward or DM's who slot into a CB role while defending, or midfielders who make runs into the box. This is all pretty standard and it doesn't mean we're playing some strange unheard of formation for us.

It also makes no sense to group players like Valencia, Rojo, Rooney etc. into any one section (in your idea of a 1333) because they all pretty much played box to box roles, again nothing new for fullbacks or a physical no 10.

Worth mentioing our formation depends largely on whether we're on the ball or off the ball. This being on the ball by the looks of it.
