And looking at what I've written, I miswrote what he said. It wasn't a decline in per capita income that was seen, but rather that median HK income per capita had surpassed than income back on the island.

Yet you have such strong and idealistic opinions about it. By the way Thatcher was in power during the 80s and she was a pionier (along with Reagan) of deregulating the financial system giving you your beloved "free market policies" which has led to 3 significant crashes in the financial markets since then.
