Because our nation is MASSIVE and varied on a scale Europeans simply do not understand. Your countries are like our states. We dont need passports to go state-to-state.

The US is also fairly isolated geographically, despite its size it only borders two countries, and most of its borders are oceans. If the US was say in the position of Russia things might be different.

isolated geographically? What? The geography of the US is incredibly varied. If you mean 'dont share a border with a bunch of countries', i dont see your point. WE dont need to leave the US to see diverse culture, we are a melting pot, its already here.

I grew up in Detroit and we had a Polish town (Hamtramack), a greektown, LOTS of Italians and germans. Its the birthplace of House (music) and Motown. We also had the largest Arab population outside of the Middle East. We share a border with Canada that when i was young you didnt even need a passport to cross.
