Yes, it's safe to walk 2 miles with your luggage, it's not a war zone.

are there things I should worry about?

Twats dragging wheely cases a foot behind them and getting in the way are really annoying.

Seems unlikely that there's not an alternative in terms of getting a bus, though.

Yes, it's generally safe. But you couldn't pay me to walk 2 miles with luggage anywhere in C London, so why not take a bus or the tube instead?

If you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount on a taxi I wouldn't spend a ridiculous amount on Heathrow Express. Especially if you want to be 2 miles from Paddington. Take the tube the whole way.

Don't be a confused tourist during rush hour. Your bags will get kicked out the way

Why don't you just take the tube? Two miles spans a vast area of London, and the vast majority of it is safe, but without knowing the specific route we can't really help.

Thanks for the response and I get 2 miles is a good span of the city, I'm coming from a big city so I'm not worried about the distance and I'm heading from Paddington to the Radison Blu Bloomsbury. I'll definitely check public transport.

Bloomsbury is nowhere near Paddington.

What you want to do is take the Piccadilly line tube all the way to Russell Square station. It's a direct line from Heathrow airport (no changes) and it will put you within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, through an extremely safe area, and it will cost you a fraction of what the Heathrow Express plus a taxi would.

/u/buried_treasure is right. It by walking for two miles you'll be negating the main benefit of the heathrow express (that it's fast). At Russell square there's a small staircase then an elevator, much easier than walking across London plus it will probably cost a fifth of the price, not counting taxi fare. You could also get off at holborn as its marginally closer, but I'm not sure about the stair situation, and tbh it's a nicer walk from Russell square

That is awesome! Thank you so much!

Google maps is good at public transit

2mi around Paddington is a lot. Are you sure you don't want to take public transport to your hotel? It'll be cheaper than a taxi and faster than going by foot.

Just take the tube

What have you heard about London to suggest otherwise? Seriously, do you watch a lot of Fox News or something?

[–]anovo319[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

More or less people stealing my stuff. I'm not concerned about getting murdered... I'm from Denver and people get jumped all the time for their stuff. I just want to carry my backpack, etc...in peace

[–]greymutt 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Well you are in for a real holiday. You won't get jumped for your stuff. Not in Zone 1, not in broad daylight.

But take /u/buried_treasure's advice and Tube it all the way.
