Here's where this gets mind blowing. Two years later I go back to 4chan. I've moved. I have a new laptop, new router, new internet provide, I am in all respects a new person on the Internet or so I would think. I get the you were banned message and have to click a link in order to post. Some how after all that 4chan knew it was me.

4chan uses IP bans

Banned in 2014 for 1 month

Two years later 'you were banned' on a different ISP entirely

Literally no fucking way for them to know who you were unless you tripfagged

That's my point. I saw my ban message two years later. Maybe it's a coincidence that someone else got banned for the exact same thing at the same time on my new ip but that'd be like winning the lottery.

4chan knowing it was you is the implausible part. You getting banned twice or seeing a ban message for using shared school internet is highly likely I feel.

Not school service. Not banned twice. Was banned and then saw the unbanned message two years later on a completely different set up, new home, new internet service, new router, new cable modem, new lap top.

Happened to me on mechachan a while back.

I'm still banned on 420chan whenever I go on the local hookah spot wifi. I had literally never gone on their wifi for anything. And the ban message was the first thing I saw
