Respectfully, in this world you are one of three things.

  1. America

  2. America's enemies

  3. America's foreign policy bitch

Of the three, I think you still have the most freedom in the US.

Hardly. America is hell bent on limiting it's own citizens freedoms.

I would disagree wholeheartedly. Several countries, namely Switzerland, the Netherlands, arguably Portugal, and several Caribbean nations have far greater freedoms.

You honestly believe that they aren't being spied on? That the US can't, or doesn't, have access to all their information?

I mean I guess you're talking about smoking weed or something else, but if you're looking at it through the lens of government control they still have big brother looking over their shoulders.

Lol of course they are.

I meant total human freedom; spying, drugs, taxation, property rights, inalienable rights, ect. IMO those countries have better total human freedom.

Switzerland

Whoever publicly, by word, writing, image, gesture, acts of violence or any other manner, demeans or discriminates against an individual or a group of individuals because of their race, their ethnicity or their religion in a way which undermines human dignity, or on those bases, denies, coarsely minimizes or seeks to justify a genocide or other crimes against humanity [...] shall be punished with up to three years' imprisonment or a fine.

the Netherlands

He who in public, either verbally or in writing or image, deliberately offends a group of people because of their race, their religion or beliefs, their hetero- or homosexual orientation or their physical, psychological or mental handicap, shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding one year or a fine of the third category.

Portugal

Whoever in a public meeting, in writing intended for dissemination, or by any means of mass media or computer system whose purpose is to disseminate: […] b) defames or slanders an individual or group of individuals because of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, or religion, particularly through the denial of war crimes or those against peace and humanity; […] with intent to incite to racial, religious or sexual discrimination or to encourage it, shall be punished with imprisonment from six months to five years.

I'm not sure these places are the bastions of freedom you believe them to be.

Add Canada to that, my own country. I'm really eager to see the verdict on Mike Ward case, if he's condemned for what he did, we should protect against the government to change these laws that were created in a time where people feared another Hitler would come to power and burn all the jews.

This pursuit against Mike Ward was started by a government agencies, it's literally the government trying to shut Mike Ward and fine him. He already lost thousands of dollars building is defense.... I can't believe this is happening in my country.

The way they treat low class workers is fucked, but the UAE has 0% income tax.

The 1776 US revolution was fought over 3% tax... On tea. Now over 50% of the national income is taxed and everyone's like... Fuk yeh, Murica!

Tell that to the Romans. Or Alexander. Or Genghis Khan.
