Martial, Shaw, Memphis, Fosu-Mensah, Rashford, Lingard, as well as the likes of CBJ, Januzaj, Pereira, Varela, McNair, Wilson and academy prospects like Angel Gomes. Now obviously not all of these will make it but it is the best group of youngsters we've had in years and I really believe some of these will be good enough to form the core of our side for years to come.

Add to that the prospect of Mourinho, or at worst, only one more year of LVG football, big summer spending and a fresh start next year, this is the most exciting time to be a red since Fergie left.

One win changes the mood of this sub from impending doom to happiness. I totally agree though. Rashford and Martial look like they'll be critical players for the next 10 years at least for us

Last night for me showed the quality of all our young guys that were playing for me, which is really only Rashford and Linear and Fosu but they are quality.

All they need is the right manager and our club did well. Lineker referred to us as the class of 16' haha

Shaw and Martial cost about 80m.

Memphis, Varela, McNair, Varela, Lingard have shown nothing to suggest they're going to be anything but average squad players.

Pereira and Adnan aren't even getting any minutes and have barely got any in the last 2 seasons.

It's an understandable backlash against the notion that he's the 2nd coming of Ronaldo every time he tears apart semi-pro fodder. And that he's just 'lacking confidence and in a funk because LVG doesn't give him hugs and start him every game' everytime he runs into PL FBs and falls over.

I was "slating" his performances for Monaco, or rather how they would translate to the PL. And, believe it or not, I was "slating" him in part to drastically lower expectations (including my own) after such an unprecedented transfer. I am "licking him" now because I'm not impervious to empirical reality, unlike Depay nutjobs. Never been happier to be wrong.

And I have (perhaps) learned from that mistake, considering I've wanted to snap up Sanches as soon as he was on our radar.

I'm certainly not writing him off and don't think many on here are, the clamour for him before the game, in the match thread there were loads wanting him subbed on after about 30 mins last night, what I don't get is why we give him a chance cos he's young and in his first season in the EPL yet Lingard is only a year older, except one game is in his first season in the EPL, has far less top level experience, his performing better than Memphis right now and he was getting slaughtered in the match thread everyone wanting Memphis, why don't we give him time cos he's young too?
