What annoyed me more is we saw Carroll push Fellaini in the back with 2 hands and it was deemed to be fine. A couple of minutes later Fellaini gets a foul given against him when going up with Carroll for the ball. Once again lack of consistency by the refs

Good so far. We are able to soak up their pressure fairly easily and I can see us getting a result from the game which is a more optimistic view than I had yesterday. We still have a fantastic bench to call upon as well.

It depends which Fellaini we are talking about. He has looked ok when breaking forward (although some of his decision making has been poor in both his pass choice and his general attacking positioning) but he has been woeful in his defensive work

There is no reason Lingard should still be out there. Martial up top, Memphis left, and Young right is what this team needs.

People keep saying this but there's a ton of issues. For one, Martial plays at his best on the left so far for us. Second, Rashford has been better than Memphis consistently so that's another net negative. And finally, and I'm not sure how this isn't more well known, Young has barely played on the right and when he has he's been mediocre. Lingard isn't great and he shouldn't start if we plan on challenging for the league or any major competitions but he's not bad and he hasn't been terrible today either.

Lingard cannot finish. He just can't. He absolutely should have buried his chance but his finishing is abysmal. Move Rashford over and stick Rooney up there now that he's back. Lingard flat out should not be starting for us.

That match thread was brutal. Fellaini and Lingard have both played well. Lingard's shot was saved by a toe. Keeper made a fantastic save on Fellaini's ball (which was set up by Lingard). Both have been lively but of course those two are this sub's scapegoats so anything they do well will be overlooked.

I do think Fellaini should have put his laces through it. Even without the deflection I think the keeper was saving it but if he had put his laces through it would have been tougher
