Just curious to see other people's United FM saves and what tactics you utilize. Also, I'm interested in seeing who's turned into a superstar for the team especially players such as Pereira etc.

I play 4-5-1 with a DM - I'm 6 seasons in if I remember correctly I'll have to check when I'm home. Won the PL every season - won 4 CL's (lost the other 2 losing to Madrid & Ronaldo goals).
Big signings
Pogba - around £45M
Ozil - for £17M when Arsenal listed him around 3 seasons in, sold him to Bournemouth now
Gundogan - £22M
Goretzka - on a free
Odegaard - £15M
I really want Bellerin but he just doesn't want to come despite Arsenal messing around 5-7th spot. He gets around 17-19 MoM's a season in the league.

Star players
Martial - had an average first season but after that hit his stride and has scored more goals than games played now - valued around £60M.
Fosu-Mensah - decided to play him in the first season vs all small teams and set him to penalties (have a theory that players develop better if they get better ratings). Hes an absolute beast now valued around £45M.
Depay - Such a solid winger, only one big injury for 3-4 months and he averages a goal every 2 games roughly.
Rashford - Spent 4 seasons on loan - now he generally comes off the bench for me and plays anywhere up front or on the wings.
Shaw - beast.
Darmian - very solid and racks up so many assists, still hasn't registered a single goal in 350~ games.

Random highlights
1. Luke Shaw has scored in every CL final. 2 finals finished 1-0 (one vs Barcelona, one vs Schalke).
2. Rashford scored a 104th minute World Cup final winner for England. This after Jones & Clyne were sent off in the first half - England injured 5 French players so France ended the game with 9 as well.
3. Had an 'Invincibles' season - the following season I was 36 games unbeaten when I lost 1-0 to a Schweinsteiger penalty who I'd let go to Derby for free in January. Its the only goal he scored for Derby.
4. Martial won 4 consecutive Ballon D'ors.
5. Beat City 3-2 in a CL final, coming back with 3 goals in the final 20 minutes (two from Fosu-Mensah), also De Gea saved a Dybala last minute penalty.

Fair play, that does sound amazing and makes me want to start another FM with United(currently playing as Spurs).

Great to see that there is a lot of players in the squad which seem to become amazing. When did you get rid of Rooney?

I chuckled at Schweinsteiger as well, ended a 90~ game unbeaten run - Derby are really shit as well.
I think I sold Rooney in the 2nd season to Watford for around £10M, he couldn't get in ahead of Martial.
Other big sales based on memory:
Herrera - Stoke (£8M)
Rojo - PSG (£18M)
Fellaini - PSG (£17M)
Blind - Newcastle (£8M)
Schneiderlin - Newcastle (£8M)
Wilson - West Ham (£21M)
Romero - Bournemouth (£1M) - he was MOM and scored the winning penalty in a League or FA cup final against me (can't remember which).
Pereira - loaned out every year, hes valued around £30M and still loaned out.
Januzaj - loaned out every year, valued around £28M.

Worth mentioning that I sold Fellaini, Herrera and Rojo after the first season. I had an offer from Tottenham for £14M for Herrera but didn't want him at Tottenham.
Blind was 30 when I sold him so £8M was alright.

Pereira is usually inconsistent so he's sold, Mata is pretty terrible this year round considering how amazing he was in FM15

We get practically unlimited money thanks to sponsorships, I'm in 2030+ (can't remember) and my team is full of regens now with a youth team full of players who will be world beaters

Both amazing, I usually like using 2 strikers so I had them both up front, Martial as a F9 and Depay as a Poacher

A beast, although I forced him into the team and kept him there before he was ready which meant he developed quickly.
Hes my best CB 6 years in.

Depay and Martial dominated ballon d'or top 3 for almost 15 years for me, I even managed to get James Wilson to win it one year.

Signed Bellerin at RB and him Jones, Shaw, Laporte and Stones formed my solid back line for 10 years, usually rotated the CBs and kept Smalling for this as well. Jones (like on all FMs), becomes a beast. Signed Pogba back and normally play him in a 3 man midfield with Schniderlin and Ross Barkley. Depay, Martial and Wilson/Embolo normally up top for me, they shit all over Neymar, Messi and Suarez. I even re-signed Ronaldo when he was about 35 for a couple of years and he still used to bag me 20 a season off the subs bench.

I play 4-4-2, inside forwards, false 9 and complete forward up top with full backs bombing forward and getting ball into box. I based the tactic on Stephen Howson's FM one, i've had more succesful tactics like a slow tika taka one I made but this one is much more exciting, great to watch, so fast and attacking.
Been playing for 3 seasons. Won league twice, 2 champs league finals, 2 FA cups. So many goals. Martial phenomenal 30+ per season, Depay awesome. Ridiculous amounts of assists for Darmian and Shaw. Schneiderlin is awesome BBM.

I immediately got rid of Rooney, Mata, Fellaini, Young, Jones and filled up the youth teams with highly rated youngsters (won u18s league and champions cup 2/3 seasons each). Recommend Renato Sanches, Zivkovic. I tried with Pereira, gave him lots of play time replacing Depay but didnt do much so moved him on.

I'm in second season but already won the EPL in the first and knocked out by Bayern in UCL semifinals and currently I'm on 1st place and qualified for last 8 in UCL.

I shocked everyone with my transfer philosophy: do not buy players already bought in other saves (like Dragovic / Balanta / G. Barbosa / Berardi / Icardi / Florenzi / Pjanic / Pogba + lots others ), even if Chelsea/City offer them. So, the next windows I bought Chambers (p/ex with Smalling + 20mil), Robertson (15-20mil) from Hull, Mustafi (25 mil), S. Ramos(45 mil) and Carlos Fierro+Zivkovic (very cheap).

Sold Fellaini (23mil @ Real madrid) + Valencia + Young. Pereira is on loan but not likely getting a place in the team in 2-3 years.

As Schweini and Carrick are getting older, I guess I will need a new DMC for rotation with Blind/Schneiderlin or I won't let Paddy Mc'Nair go on loan again. CBJ + TFM+Varela + Rashford had also about 5-6 games as starters (in cups).

As I already played with a new promoted to championship Brighton in 2035 (went on holiday and discovered a lot of ex players with different roles in the game and, most notable: besides Everton+Spurs+Southampton + Stoke relegated, Chelsea are a real pain in the ass), I'm thinking to:

  • to buy only players under 19 to make them home grown / raised by the club

  • do not sell the ageing Rooney / Schweini etc. and use them as a rotation for the youngsters

  • quit the job after 5 years and manage a team in other country and come back after 5-10 years and discover the new english superstars :)

Martial took about 3 seasons to become world class, Fosu mensah about 4-5 seasons would also become one. Januzaj would be a great player, but never become consistent or world class.

Varela, Lingard, Pereira, Mcnair, Love, Goss, Pearson, Powell, Blackett, Rothwell, Keane, CBJ all ended up being sold/released at second or third season.

Rashford, Mitchell, Riley, Gribbin, Tuanzebe these guys are gamble, sometimes they can be really good. But usually some of the regen would be a better player.

Best performer so far is Ander Herrera. I never let him go despite so many offer and only 3stars rating.

I am doing a spurs save (although I am a United fan). In the first season Leicester came in first, United 2nd with a 4 points differential, United won the FA cup though.

In the 2nd season Manchester United only lost 2 games in total in the Premier League which made them champions after 33 games. 2nd came Liverpool (?). United got defeated in the semifinals of the champions league too.

Usually....
Sell: Young, Fellaini, Carrick, Mata, Blind.
Buy: Dominating center back to play with Smalling, A pacey striker who can get in behind defences, and a new strong central midfielder.
I usually play something like: DDG, Darmian, Smalling, xxx(or Jones), Shaw. Schneiderlin, xxx. Janujaz, Rooney, Depay. Martial (rotated with new player).

Hello!

Playing 4-2-3-1 in my first season and haven't been playing much past few weeks. Signed up Andre Carillo for a wing position and Mustafi as a CB.

                            De Gea

             Darmian - Smalling - Mustafi - Shaw

                  Schneiderlin - Blind

             Carillo  -  Mata  -  Martial

                         Depay

Pretty much play a possession system with loads of short passing and overlapping fullbacks. About 3/4 into my first season and I've won the League Cup, beat Wolfsburg to enter the CL semi's and 3rd in the league behind bloody Spurs (1st) and Chelsea (2nd) though I did just beat Spurs at a home game.

Best attacking player by far is Memphis who is up to 42 goals in all competitions. Martial and Carillo both have 11 goals apiece with decent assist numbers. Mata is ok though he is a bit inconsistent so I swap him with Rooney every few games. Shaw is my best fullback with his pace and brilliant crossing and has higher assist numbers than the front 3 bar Martial. De Gea is pretty much world class, not a game he doesn't make good saves. Defence is pretty weak with long balls over the top catching us out a lot.

Overall, decent season though I don't expect to win the league.

Having an unreal save with MUFC.

Sold all the deadwood and just invested in loads of regens and buy a superstar each summer such as Neymar and Pogba.

My key player is Gabriel Barbosa who has scored buckets of goals from the RW IF role.

Unfortunately none of the current youth were good enough but some decent scouting means I have some worldies out on loan.
