The End.

Hi Everyone,

The MovieSwap campaign almost reaches its end. However, despite its incredible success, we, unfortunately, need to announce that we have made the difficult decision to cancel it.

We almost gathered 5,000 supporters, which places MovieSwap in the top 400 of the most popular Kickstarter campaigns in the history of the platform (amongst 100,000 funded campaigns! Yes, we counted). We had an amazing press coverage in a dozen of countries and noticed your enthusiasm for the launch of a platform that would provide the incredible diversity created by the worldwide cinema industry, for an affordable subscription fee.

However, our investors were expecting more, and we cannot launch MovieSwap without their full support, despite your mobilization. To start this crazy adventure and launch MovieSwap globally, we need to invest a few millions. Under the symbolic 10,000 backers barrier, our investors consider it would be too risky to bet on our project. Without funding, we cannot guarantee MovieSwap will be available in the expected time. That's why we prefer canceling our project and have your money refunded.

We remain convinced that movies deserve a better legal offer and exposure on the Internet. Those evolutions should definitely be user-centric, instead of placing the public on the side of the experience. And they should make sure to satisfy all parties: creators, with whom the value must fairly be shared. Investors who take the risk to support new business models, and of course, cinema lovers whose expectations need to be listened to.

We will continue working in this direction and will share our key learnings with you, on this page, in a few weeks.

We want to thank all of you for your support, your trust and the warm interest you shared with us.

We'll be back.

Really is a joke and felt like project was made to mess with us as backers.

Not good. You almost tripled your kickstarter goal and still your investors wouldn't back you up? Why haven't you reached for a higher amount? I mean, I never tried to spread the word any further, since you already reached your goals. Bad planning guys. Really bad planning...

      Sorry to hear that.

What a shame! This is very disappointing. :(

The money was not the goal of this KS, it was only to see how many people would be interested , to have funds from investors: so it was a bad idea. You should have be clear about the 10.000 users goal.

you wanted 35k, you got 87k, now you say you don't have enough money, amazing. why did you even started this campaign if you knew you would just end it.

I find it ironic that in order to be successful on Kickstarter, unless you are incredibly lucky, you still need to rely on investors.

You made over double your target and you are saying it isn't enough. Wow. I've seen some poorly planned Kickstarter campaigns before but this is a new level.
