Does it matter ? Hinduism of today is not what it used to be a 1000 or 2000 years ago , what we see around us today is not Vedic Hinduism, Hinduism has evolved so have practicing Hindus and their world view

But please cite the exact verse you are referring to in your quote of Vedas

And there are similar verses supporting burying leper women alive from the Puranas(this came up during Warren Hastings's time in India in the EIC stuff)(citing SN Balagangadhara). Your point being?

Well, it's True. Ancient Indians used to have very Strict Laws and punishment were very Cruel for Culprits. if you are interested in History of India visit Historum Forum. we have many Historians there from Indian Background. :)

What are you quoting from? Not a quote from random reddit user or troll online! You read any book on history of India from Indus to Aryans to vedic people to first dynasties, I don't find any such claim. You seems to be 13 yeras old noob who has been poorly misguided for I don't why but with utmost stupidity.

What mantras go about clarifying scriptural laws? That's not what mantras are for.

It doesn't matter what was being followed some thousands of years ago (I'm not sure if you aren't selectively quoting the scriptures, but okay, I will give you the benefit of doubt).

What is the norm today matters the most.

When it comes to social customs, Hinduism is never static.

Is this a troll thread? (cause I'm getting vibes that it is).

Look nothing is explicitly wrong or right in Hinduism as we don't follow a deontologically based moral system. Rather, the rightness and wrongness of an action are in proportion to the goal of life that we are pursuing. If an individual wants to pursue kama then by all means, Homosexuality is permissible. However the reason scripture may issue certain statements (and I must clarify here that scripture doesn't condemn homosexuality explicitly, but rather condemns all forms of sexual lust, including heterosexual lust equally), is because excessive lust destroys our spiritual purity and thus acts as a obstacle to the highest goal of human life (Moksha). In such a spiritual path (of attaining Moksha) hetereosexual lust was only permissible for the begetting of a child, and even that you had to be very careful that you did not indulge in it too much. That is why for Humans such regulations are put forth. If you have Homosexual tendencies and living with a partner helps you curb those tendencies then it is to be considered moral as it leads one closer to the spiritual goal. This is a conclusion of morality in the Bhagavatam which outshines even the Visnu Purana in authority.
