Not sure why OP deleted his reply to you, but Basti has made 31 appearances, not 18. /u/SalvinY7

He has missed a lot of matches (yes I know he is not the only one), and he hasn't played particularly well in the once he did play.

What we do need to consider before going through another clearout is whether we can find quality replacements/ upgrades.

Another consideration is that hopefully with a new manager next season, I would like to see these players play in their proper positions and in a style of football that suits this team because we can't fully blame them for not playing well this season if the football LVG has been playing is not conducive to the player's strengths, eg playing fellaini as a holding midfielder

the manager situation will definitely be a huge factor.

But in my opinion, every player listed, are guys that in my opinion, who are expendable

The only players that I believe should be sold are Fellaini and Mata. It's no coincidence that both were Moyes' signings and that they were panic buys and nothing less.

Fellaini just doesn't fit our system and should go to a club where his style of play would be appreciated. As for Mata, he really is a luxury player. It's either you play him as a 10 and revolve the team around him or don't play it him at all.

I disagree about Carrick and I do think that he should still be given a contract extension. Although, he shouldn't start for us anymore, his experience is still important to the team and we need that since we have such a young squad now. Carrick, Rooney and Smalling are the remaining 'winners' from the Fergie era and can still influence the dressing room in a positive way since they've pretty much won everything.
