Imagine a 22 year old coming into a new league and having a bad season. It happens and it should be expected. However, to not be trusted as soon you find some form and begin to look comfortable must be incredibly disheartening.

 

This kid was our summer signing to be excited about (before we bought Martial) and he doesn't even play. This is getting ridiculous. He is very clearly talented but this style of play evidently restricts him. Some fans were saying he looked like he didn't care if we won or lost but to me that is utter garbage. He is clearly a player who is very emotional on the pitch and this was even evidenced today with the little holding session with Kyle Walker.

 

I believe van Gaal has to go for Memphis to flourish but that doesn't mean I'm calling for van Gaal's head. I just don't believe Memphis feels comfortable playing in a possession-based team (though we're really not) and I don't believe van Gaal trusts him enough to play out his 'philosophy'.

 

I do not want to see this talent leave Old Trafford this summer. It would be a unbelievable mistake on our part and with that said, I can't wait to see him improve next year.

He is used completely ineffectively. Why bring on Memphis when we are 3-0 down? Instead of playing Young up-top, why not play Memphis up-top? He played there and scored against Watford.

LvG is completely clueless and delusional. The faster he goes, the better. He has managed to turn this club into a complete joke, and has destroyed the confidence of fans.

He has managed to turn this club from "Lads, it's Tottenham" to "Lads, it's Manchester United."

I wouldn't be surprised if Pochettino said that in their halftime talk.

His confidence is completely shot. He is a showman, but if he makes one mistake, he is banished to the bench for the next month.

I am sick and tired of this useless manager. It takes real stupidity to turn one of the brightest talents in Europe into a marginal, lifeless player.

The day LvG is sacked will be one for all United fans to rejoice.

Every player we bought these past 2 years have struggled, except from Martial the freak. That's no a coincidence and some fans needs to shut up saying he is overrated and new Nani. Can't wait for Mourinho to bring a world class playmaker and turn our young players to world class.

not every player...LVG and attacking players just don't mix well. If LVG had a choice and cloning was possible, he would want 10 Daley Blinds in the starting lineup.

Shaw,Rojo first season was terrible even Blind had bad season considering LVG tried to use him as DM, he had though some good performances in LB. Imo only Martial and Herrera performed well and it seems LVG doesn't appreciate Ander at all, using him out of position even snubbing him for Fellaini,Carrick

He's not a great fit in LvG's system. He can be wasteful. Memphis is the type of player who needs to be running at people and making things happen. He needs open field and people who aren't afraid of a through-ball or counter-attack. He cannot be afraid to take a risk for fear of being benched for a month. I really think he would thrive under Mourinho.

Mourinho managed to get Hazard to track back, which was crucial for helping Chelsea win the title. I believe Memphis will do the same. (or at-least I hope so).

After seeing what Memphis is capable of when he tracks back (Stoke, Liverpool), I'd be happy if he doesn't do that too often

He's actually not that bad at tracking back. He was at the start maybe but he's improved a bit. In his short run of form a few weeks ago he was putting in some really impressive shifts in terms of work rate. That may have been an attempt to keep his place though.

He's a confidence player and when he's confident, it shows (matches at Midtjylland and Arsenal shows what he can do). But as soon as he makes a couple of mistakes (which he will do as thats his game) LVG subs him and his confidence is completely shot. LVG doesn't play to his supposed strengths and expects him to immediately play and adapt to a system that doesn't suit him at all. No wonder he's out of the team, no confidence what-so-ever and is looking like a fish out of water. If Mou comes in, he'd fit nicely in a system like the one he used at Madrid or his Chelsea system last year in the Hazard role.
