I think if Pochettino didn't do such a great job in the same timeframe as LVG then it would be easy for everyone to say "rebuilding the club takes years blah blah".

Fact is, it doesn't, as Poch shows.

He took over a side with big egos and deadwood (sound familiar?) with players like Sandro, Sigurddson, Livermore, Holtby, Dawson, Naughton, Lennon,Assou Ekotto and Adebayor.

He's done as big a rebuild as LVG and has improved more than LVG as well.

TL;DR LVG is not rebuilding the club, he's holding it back.

LVG took another route: first destroy the club then rebuild it. Of course he forgot what he was doing midway - or maybe he never had a clue in the first place, and here we are.

Why we haven't signed any real center back yet after all that money spent is beyond me. I guess you could count Rojo as one, but Van Gaal seems to have no intention of playing him there.

tbf he went to tottenham ( a step up) and had little to no impact and so returned to Swansea. Some players are comfortable and shine at a certain level. Need to be targeting a bit more than Sigurdsson as much as I like him
