creatively telling people here to kill themselves is just unacceptable for someone who is for all intents and purposes a community arbiter. It is unacceptable for people in positions of power here to be encouraging suicide. Further more, given this is a mostly anonymous community, we don't know much about each other personally and as such we don't if there are people here who have mental health issues such as depression or suicidal thoughts.

There is no excuse for this, this is a community that has an AOP that bans people for making slurs, and if we are to be critical and non hypocritical than suicide goading cannot be acceptable.

I'd like to see them resign, but if you feel like a ban is also warranted then make it known.

I think instead we need to have an explicit rule against any users encouraging anyone to commit suicide, announce it here and in r/@, and then start banning without exception whoever breaks the rule.

(It's not about targets, shit like this as a tactic is fucked. it shouldn't matter if oppressed & marginalized peeps use it against literal fascists even, because this kinda behavior is stupid and can be triggering for users who aren't even involved)

Can get behind this. This needs to be made a rule so it stops fucking happening. One day it won't be directed at me (as if I want to keep hearing this stuff anyway), someone will go self harm because of a dumbass Internet argument, and then this community will be to blame for that, which would fucking suck.

Drama has tons of shitty people, I'm not going to deny that. I usually go there and attack the shitty people for fun though, and it's a big sub and there's plenty of fun drama too.

Yeah, I'm one of them, and it's really gross to see you appropriating our struggles to get someone you don't like banned. Most of the time you don't give a fuck about us. You refuse to listen to us about our own experiences and needs, and you're always trying to make it harder for us to have our issues addressed. You actively make attempts to disarm us in a space where abusers would rule by default without moderation to combat it. Stop pretending that you're concerned when you're only concern trolling.

If people rage and post those comments it's because they're being frustrated by ongoing trolling or users working against them. I oppose taking action against it unless action is also taken against the trolls that cause the underlying anger.

Frankly, I dislike Rad as much as the rest of the special snowflake patrol and would gladly support a call to step down in most cases, but I've got to disagree here for the very same reason: this is just silly. Suck it up and stop being so goddamned thin-skinned about everything. This is obtuse, even for a "go kill yourself" statement.

EDIT: Initially I'd opposed this because it's a great example of exactly the bullshit I feel has rendered this place entirely impotent, but now I'm going to abstain simply because I think it's fair to be judged by the same rules you enforce on others. Having said that, I still can't in good faith support, because then I'd be in the same boat.
